Everything seemed normal in the Nordic household. Emil, Lukas, and Tino we're reading in the den and the distant sounds of Berwald working in his shop could be heard. The only thing missing? Mathias and his outrageous antics. From what the Norwegian knew, the Dane was up in his room most likely building some huge Lego castle. Not that Norway hated the Dane's absence. He could finally read in peace. Suddenly, the room was filled with loud steps as Denmark launched himself down the stairs. He barely managed to catch himself before he stumbles into the fireplace. Lukas sighed, cursing himself.
"Emergency, guys!" The Dane shouted, hands hid behind his back.
"Did you set your room on fire again?" Norway asked lazily, eyes not moving from the novel in his lap.
"No! No! It's worse than that!" The Dane continued to keep his hands hidden behind his back, being extra careful to not let Tino or Emil see what was hidden.
"You didn't start Ragnarok, did you?" Lukas eyed the wildly grinning Dane. So much for emergency. Mathias shook his head wildly, visually trembling with excitement. Lukas sighed, now agitated. He let his book close with a harsh thud. "I am not in the mood for your guessing games."
"I lost my heart."
"Your what?"
"My heart."
"Apparently that's not the only vital organ you seem to be lacking." Mathias pouted, excitement faltering for a moment.
"That's not nice."
"Neither is disturbing me while I'm in the middle-"
"So have you seen it?" Mathias chirped. Lukas sighed once more. He was obviously going to have to go along with the Dane's silly game if he wanted some peace and quiet. Lukas set his book on the table nearby, sitting up properly and abandoning the sinfully comfortable position he had found himself in.
"No. I haven't. Go bother Berwald." As the Swede's name fell past his lips the sound of a door closing echoed.
"Don't make 'im bother me." Berwald objected, dusting sawdust from his clothes.
"Sví! I need help! I can't seem to find my heart!" Sweden's brows furrowed, the permanent glare on his face deepening.
"How can y' possibly lose somethin' like that."
"I don't know! That's why I'm trying to find it!" Berwald let out a deep sigh. He shouldn't have said anything. Now he's stuck playing Mathias' little game.
"Y' try lookin' in yer chest? Y' know, 'bout right here." Berwald placed a hand over his chest. Instantly, Denmark shook his head.
"Nej! Nej! Not that heart!" Norway was lost now. Lost and very, very curious.
"What are you going on about, you idiot? You only have one heart." Lukas tried to reason. But Denmark wasn't having it. He wanted them to play his game until they understood what he was going on about. Denmark took a few steps closer, eyes narrowed suspiciously. With the position he was standing in Berwald could now see what the Dane was hiding. A small pink stone, carved into a heart. Thulite*. Probably.
"It was you, wasn't it? You stole it! Did you steal it?" At this point, there was less than a meter between them, the Dane hunched over Norway.
"I didn't steal anything!" Norway's patience with Denmark was wearing thin, and the tension in the room was thickening. With a dorky smile on his face, Denmark took the hand holding the stone and cupped the side of Norway's face. Pulling his hand back, he paraded the heart shaped stone. He smiled at the Norwegian's dazed expression.
"Ja du gjorde."* The faintest of blushes covered Norway's face. Taking the stone, Lukas shoved Mathias away from him.
"Nei! Jeg gjorde ikke!"*
Thulite- it's the national stone of Norway.
Ja du gjorde- Yes you did
Nei. Jeg gjorde ikke- No. I didn't.\\
