Yah I know... Waaaaay later than when I said I would post. All I can do is say sorry. My excuse is that I've been updating other stories.
It was never hard.
It was really just a dance of sorts.
I took a deep breath, knowing it was best to take my time, not rush it. Though I did have to be quick, I only had so long before the guard came back around for another scan of the area. Lowering myself to the ground, I slid one pale leg back along the cool, tile floor as my heart pounded against my ribcage.
'1… 2… 3…' I paused and carefully, quietly twisted my body over. Leaning forward slowly, I took another shakey breath. Despite this whole thing not being difficult, it was definitely a workout. My other leg shook under the weight of my entire body, but I didn't give way. I couldn't give up now, I was so close.
All was silent in the large room, as it was supposed to be at this late time of the night. I closed my eyes, focusing on that silence. I was apart of that silence, I was silence...
Slipping an arm between the streaks of red, I laid my hand flat on the floor. My long, navy blue-to-black hair was braided and pushed inside the back of my black shirt so it wasn't bothersome, though I had to watch it at this part.
Slowly and swiftly, I twisted her body again. I put another hand on the ground between the beams and lifted a leg into the air.
MWER! MWER! MWER!
I flinched at the sound of the alarm and froze in my uncomfortable position. I hadn't touched any of the beams, I would've felt it.
"God dammit, how'd you screw up?"
"Sh-shut up!" What was wrong? What'd I do wrong?
I heard the running of feet and, since the alarms were going off anyway, flipped backwards to stand.
"See you tomorrow!"
I huffed irritably. That was the thing about stealing. If you screw up then you're on your own.
Darting through neon-red beams, I went to the white case at the end of the room and picked up the beautiful, expensive, emerald and sterling silver necklace. I didn't hang around, dropping it into my pocket and taking my leave.
For you readers who also read Splashes of Color, this is pretty much the same beginning. I'll try to update with a second chapter soon.
I'm also willing to add in a couple OCs. Just post them in the reviews and I'll message you if I've any questions.
