Two young boys, around the age of five or six, one redhead, one brunette, run in the sand of the Boeshane Peninsula. They run from an unseen adversary, towards the redhead's mother, who is frantically looking for her son in the roiling crowd. She sees him, but cannot reach him, going against the tide. The boys fall to the back of the crowd, the mother calling for her son. The pursuers enter the field of view. The brunette trips, and the redhead stops to help him. The mother has almost reached the back of the pack, but can only look on in horror and scream for the boys as her son and his friend are swept up by the pursuers. The crowd carries her away as the pursuers, having gotten what they came for, turn back the way they came. The mother continues to scream…

Myrabelle Storm awakes from the nightmare with a start, bathed in sweat and screaming. Her head falls into her hands, and she sobs for her lost son. It has been years since the raiders took Matthew from her, but the nightmares make it seem like it was only yesterday. Myra breathes deep, calming the outpouring of emotion, and looks up, taking in the familiar sight of her bedroom on her TARDIS. The walls, covered in pictures and posters from her travels, as well as snapshots and sketches of family and friends. The most prominent are the most recent, being the last on the wall. The newest sketches are of a soldier, a Captain in the RAF by the name of Jack Harkness. Myra had made the mistake of staying in one place for too long, of getting involved. She had fallen hard for Captain Harkness, as he had for her. She let him get close, too close. The ache of losing Kyan and Matt still haunted her, making it difficult for her to accept love. Myra treasured the time she had with Jack, but knew that it was for the best that she had left, giving him the chance to grow old with a wife, and saving her the heartbreak of rejection once he knew the truth.

Now that she is awake, Myra sees no point in trying to get back to sleep. She leaves her bedroom and walks into the control room, setting a course for Cardiff, Wales, planet Earth.
