Alone together in an underground community like neighborhood, were two different beings. Inside a home, in this hidden compound, on the second floor was a human and the mighty chimera King. The young woman with white, messy, and unkempt locks which cascaded around her pale shoulders, sat patently on the floor waiting for her turn. Sitting across from the blind woman, with a noir playing chip in his possession, was the King himself. The poison had claimed his vision.
His violet colored orbs held exhaustion in them as he spoke out loud to the blind fragile human female, "I'm a little tired… I need to take a short nap." He pauses in hesitation briefly unsure of how she would reply, "Will you hold my hand?"
The radiation which flowed through his body freely for a while now; has made him feel a cold chill like numbness claim him. That numb sensation took time to consume his entire nervous system, slowly but surely it would claim him and his heart.
"Kogumi?" There was no reply. He felt panic and fear slowly creep forward in his thoughts. He called out again, "Kogumi, are you still there?"
"I can hear you," Finally she claims and then confirms, "I understand."
The king relaxed and places the chip that was in between his fingers on the board. "I'll wake up shortly." he promised, "Will you stay by my side until I wake?"
A soft honest smile formed on the woman's lip, "I've never left your side."
She felt her heart ache and as she spoke on, "I've always been here," It was getting more difficult for her to talk. After she had her first breakdown previously, it took a while for her to calm down. That same painful knot forming in her throat once again. She sniffles quickly.
The King slumps forward pushing the wooden box aside. His olive skinned hand extends out before him feeling the floor beneath him. He shuffles across the floor slowly and carefully feeling his surroundings. His green fingers come across a loose fabric and the familiar body heat with it.
"Kogumi…" he breaths.
Kogumi's hands reached out and gently pulled him into lying on her lap. "Yes, yes." she answers soothingly to the Chimera King.
He felt uneasy as sleep claimed him while he laid in her lap. Her fingers lovingly and gently stroke over his cheek repeatedly. "Thank you," he sincerely said meaning it.
"You're welcome," she smiled softly, her gaze goes off into the darkness.
"Will you call me..." His eyes drowsy, now. His eyelids were as heavy as lead he could no longer resist, instead he slowly gave in.
"Yes?" she press on gently for him to finish.
He continued,"By my name one last time?" she stroked his face one last time. Her pale soft fingers swiftly moved to his hand. The King use the rest of his energy and the last of his strength to grip her hand tightly.
"Good night, Meruem. I'll soon be joining you."
Out of darkness. Out of nowhere. A small the light grew brighter and brighter. Over time the light grow strong and as it did faint whispers could be heard in the distance.
"Mer..? Wa... up." A tiny voice called out, "Meruem?"
