"Wow, really?" Sue's voice filled the room, overshadowing the pained groans of the rest of the class. "Thats right, we're going to a speech by the senator in Washington, D.C." The teacher paced in front of her desk. "It will be a week long trip, and we'll be seeing the sights as well." Sue couldn't help but let out a squeal of delight. "Oh yes, and it's mandatory." The class joined in unison for a disheartened groan. "That is all. Class dismissed."

Sue plopped into her chair, food in hand. A sunny smile was drawn on her face, giving her a radiant aura, like a returning dawn. "What are you so happy about?" asked Tess. "Well, w-" "Were going to fuckin' boring Washington to hear some stupid speech." Paulo interjected, a firm scowl chiseled on his face. "Hey, its not boring!" Sue snapped. "Oh boy, Washington, fun." Paulo mocked. "It's important to keep up with current events!" "If you love current events so much, why don't you marry it?" Sue stood up, slamming her hands on the table. "I don't know why I even bother!" she turned around, and stormed out of the cafeteria, disappearing into the crowd.
The tension at the table was crackling. It was broken by Daisy, who punched Paulo in the arm, producing a dull thud. "Ow! What was that for?" He yelled. He turned to face her, and cringed at the sight of her steaming expression. "You shouldn't be so mean!" she cried. Paulo looked away. "I didn't think she'd take it so hard..." "You don't think much, do you." Abbey interjected. Paulo twisted his gaze to meet Abbey's, anger present on his face. "What, you saying I'm stupid?" he sneered. "Yes." Abbey replied. The exchange soon escalated into a full fledged argument, with everyone participating, each trying to put in their own two cents.

By the time the argument started, McCain had already left. He walked down the hallways with a subtle stomp of anger. He walked with absolute certainty. He knew where she was. He turned the corner, and sure enough, there was Sue. She was leaning on a wall, anger clearly present on her face. Her tail waved back and forth sporadically. She turned to him, and her expression softened slightly. "Why does no one care?" she asked, her expression slowly softening into mild sadness. "I care." McCain replied. Sue smiled weakly. "Yeah, you do. Sometimes, I think we're the only ones who do." They stood in silence for a few moments. "C'mon, we should get back." he said. Sue giggled, letting her teeth show. "Yeah," she replied. "I guess I over reacted a little." She strode down the hallway, McCain next to her, both enjoying the blissful silence.
