The Great Discovery
After practicing karate at the dojo little Kawamura & Akatsu walk home together. On there way back, they come across a pile of thrash. Enthusiastic they start to search around to see whether they can find something interesting.
After a while they come around a strange thing. It's white and looks a bit like a gun. But it's too big and it looks like there's a fan inside. Besides that, it had buttons to put it on and off and it's seems to use electric. Curious to know what it is, they go around the neighbourhood to ask people what it's used for.
First is the neighbour of Kawamura. He is washing his car in front of his house. They walk up to him and ask him what it is used for. With a big grin of his face he tells them it's used to paint walls and cars etc. You put in the paint, then you push the on button and it starts to shoot paint.
Enthusiastic about their discovery, they want to try it out. So they go to Kawamura's home to ask his mum about it. She isn't home, neither is his dad. But they run into a friend of Kawamura's dad, who's willing to listen to the boys. They tell him what they want and by seeing their equipment he starts laughing. He tells the boys the neighbour was joking and the thing they carry around is used like a drill. When they wonder about the fan inside, he explains it is used to keep the screw cooled down, so it won't melt while drilling.
Again enthusiastic about their discovery, they decide to go over to Akutsu's place. His dad is currently creating a new bookcase, so it would be a nice present to him. When they want to leave Kawamura's place, they notice the rain has finally started to pour down. Making them run all away to Akutsu's place, while covering the wonderful drill under their jackets.
Finally arriving at Akutsu's place, they are completely soaked. But it's not holding them from searching Akutsu's dad and give him the present. Unfortunately it seems Akutsu's dad left a while ago and won't be back for a while. Seeing the disappointed faces, the mum's of Akutsu and Kawamura wonder what's going on. They boy show their drill and tell their mum's they wanted to give it to Akutsu's dad, to help him make the bookcase.
Both mum's start to laugh and tell the boys this thing they brought along wasn't meant to make bookcases. And the fact they got it from the thrash probably meant it was broken. Akutsu and Kawamura insist their mums to tell what it was used for. Akutsu's mum smiles and takes the same looking thing from the cupboard in the hall. She tells it's used to dry your hair and plug in into the wand contact and starts to dry Akutsu and Kawamura who start to giggle as little girls when they feel the warm wind.
