John Torse was a rebel against the sinister Combine, a race
of aliens that had in seven hours defeated all the worlds militaries
and taken over the world, and lived in the science facility of Black Mesa East with his fellow rebels and Vortigaunts, an alien race who was also fighting the Combine. John had been called to see the leader of the rebellion, Eli Vance for a mission.
"We've heard reports that a group of citizens is going to be turned into Stalkers, which we don't want happening especially now since we've heard additional reports that Gordon Freeman has been seen in the city and we can't risk him being killed."
"Yes, Sir," another rebel, Chris, replied.
"Alright," Eli nodded, "John, Chris, Marion; you will be going on this mission with Osirus, a Vortigaunt."
A few minutes later the four of them were sneaking through the sewers when the Vortigaunt Osirus stopped them looked up through a grate and informed them that they were just below Stalker-ifier as they called them; Marion snuck to the grate and quietly pulled the grate out and tossed a grenade through. There was a resounding explosion and they all rushed out into the room firing. Chris blasted a soldier with his 12 gauge shotgun, John fired at another soldier with a submachine gun, Marion slid under a crowd of them and left a grenade beneath them, knocking their corpses around the room. Osirus grabbed a soldier and slammed him to the ground, blasting him with an electrical burst. John ran through the smoke to the crowd of citizens and shot their restraints, freeing them.
John made eye contact with one of the citizens and saw that she was beautiful, with her waist-length red hair and green eyes, relief played across her soft features. "John," Chris called from the sewer hole, "John!" he yelled firing his gun into the air. John snapped back to the present and jumped back into the sewers with the girl, running for their escape boat.
