The sun rose over Oakland Hills just south of New Rome, the 3rd Cohort getting ready to start their daily duties. Amoung the few was Vincent Graves son of Trivia, a 2 year leader of the Third Cohort. That morning Jason and Reyna, the praetors, had called a meeting in the Principia.
The Third Cohort took their seats as Reyna started the meeting. Aurum and Argentum at her sides, guarding her every move. Jason paced behind her, his sky blue eyes focused directly on the piece of paprus on the wooden table.
"Now, I have summoned you for a gathering. Tonight as we all know is the night of the War Games, and we have gotten a new member." Reyna paced forward towards the back of the Principia, her footsteps echoeing.
Jason stood up, "Reyna, shouldn't we discuss this after the War Games?" Jason said, he bit his lower lip. Obviously afraid of her answer.
"Of course, but I believe now would be a better time. So the best for the girl would be better for now. Then we wouldn't have to worry about her being misplaced in the War Games, am I correct?" Her voice sharp towards the blond praetor, he nodded in agreement. Vince lowered in his seat, his friend Cato snickered at his action. The son of Trivia glared up at him, then lowered more. "Summon the girl, its time for her to come." Reyna said a bit sharply, thats when Vince fell out of his seat. A small blond girl walked in with a purple shirt, blue shorts and purple converse. Her eyes sparkled with pure excitment, but she kept a straight face, she was rather skinny, rosie cheeks and her skin was pale.
"Annalise Pipkin, Octavian what is her fate?" Reyna turned towards the pale, skinny, ugly blond boy in the corner of the Principia.
"She may live," He said blandly, the small stuffed bear was dropped to the floor with stuffing poured out. Reyna nodded with her back turned to Jason, he was smiling widely. Vince was amazed by this girl's beauty, she stood there completely calm. "Now, who is willing to accept her into their Cohort?" Nobody rose, Cato stared at Vince as he nearly fell over the chairs as he rose. "I, Vincent Graves son of Trivia, leader of the Third Cohort, am willing to accept her into the Third Cohort." He said with a shaky voice, Annalise nearly squealed, but she ran over quickly and hugged just as she walked over there. Reyna sighed, then walked towards them, "Well then, Vincent Graves, do any of the Centurians object?" Everyone remained silent. She handed the probatio to Annalise and walked back to her seat.
"Now everyone is dismissed for dinner." She said, all the cohorts left for the dining hall.
Vince followed Cato until he was stopped, "Hey um... thanks for accepting me." Annalise said with a small smile. He blushed deeply, "Oh no problem, you're a great addition to the group." She smiled bigger.
"Well you're alright, Vince."
