"You should know you have to say a lot of nice things to me to make up for the mammoth task of finding new recipes for that mountain of fish you brought in today. You're gonna get bored of it, you know how bad my cooking is."
"I'm glad you know how much I love you, then."
"Stop laughing. Even now, after all this time?"
"Always. And I'm not laughing at you, I'm just happy! Can't a guy smile at his wife? I think I'm allowed by now, y'know."
"I'm just glad we're here, Jack. After all this time. I admit… when we finally got to be together, I wasn't sure how you'd react - I was worried that this might be hard, after all that waiting, all that anticipation - that the reality wouldn't live up to the dream."
"How's it comparing?"
"Pretty well, actually. Better, in fact. You?"
"Sam, holding you in my arms is like seeing a sunrise for the first time in years - you can't believe what you've been missing, and you're glad that you're lucky enough to have a whole sunshine-filled day ahead of you."
"So do you regret all those years we were never together?"
"Nope. I can't. If now you're like the sunrise, then back then it was like moonlight - I couldn't see very far ahead of me, but the moon was shining with reflected light that gave me hope that the sun was still out there somewhere, even if I couldn't see it."
"You're a lot better at this than you think, Jack, at this relationship stuff."
"Yeah, well, I guess it must be because you're here. You make things work, it's what you do; Stargates, alien doohickies, and us. Which is good, you know."
"I'm glad. I know it's good."
"Good."
