His palms were sweaty and he was sweating neither was from the 102 temperature outside. He stood and watched her from afar as he gathered himself together. He did not want her to see him like this. Nervous. He felt like he was going to throw up his pancakes and eggs he had for breakfast. Finally after a couple of minutes he took a deep breath and walked into the garage.
She hadn't heard him when he walked in. She probably had headsets on. He had told her time and time again that she shouldn't wear them when she worked alone in the garage. But of course she never listened. Sometimes he felt that he was talking to a brick wall. Other times, like this one she gave him butterflies in his stomach. He kicked her work boot to get her attention. She slowly rolled from underneath the car she was working on. She stood up and eyed him up and down. "What are you wearing?" She walked around him to get a better look.
Amused Dom replied. "It's a suit Letty."
Letty wiped her greased stain hands on her overalls. "Yeah I see that, but why are you wearing one? Someone die?" She asked smirking leaning against the car.
"No. It's Valentine's Day, Letty."
She craned her head over him to look at the babe and hot rod calender hanging up behind him. Yep it was February 14th Valentine's Day. "So it is." She couldn't contain the huge smile that spread across her face. "Got a hot date?"
Dom stepped closer to her invading her personal space. "Yep."
"Really? Do I know her?"
"Yeah, I think you spotted her a couple of times at the races?"
Letty laughed. "So a racer chaser. Dom I thought you had better taste." She said crossing her arms.
He shook her head. "I do and she ain't no racer chaser." Letty scoffed. "She's got a lot more class than them skanks at the races."
Letty nodded her head. "Classy, eh? So if she so classy why is she slumming it with you then?"
He laughed. "Cause she got brains and she knows, I'm the man."
T
his time Letty laughed. "So this girl must be something special for you to go all Dom Juan De Marco for her. Must really like her."
Dom shrugged. "It's more than like, has been for a while."
"Uh huh. So this chick is classy with brains, she knows you the man, and you more than like her?" Dom nodded. "Nope can't say that I know her."
He grabbed her wrist and pulled her flushed to him. "Happy Valentine's Day, Let." He kissed her.
"Dom your suit." She mumbled between kisses trying to warn him of her grease stain state.
"Can get another one." He answered pushing her against the car.
"So, you in a suit is my Valentine's?" She asked as she bit his lower lip. "Not very creative, Dom."
He laughed and took her hand. "Ye of little faith." He led her outside. There hooked up to the tow truck was a 1997 Nissan 240SX S14 wrapped in a giant red ribbon.
"No shit!" Letty squealed.
"I saw you eying it the other day at the auction. So I went back and got it for you." Dom told her. He watched as she trailed her fingers across the car as if it was something sacred. "Got a tab at Harry's set up for you. Get whatever you need to fix it up." And the car needed to be fixed up. It was a wreck and a horrible pea green color but he knew that Letty would love it more if she fixed it up herself. And he figured right when she jumped in his arms.
"Thank you Papi."
"Your welcome." He pushed a stray hair from her face. "Love you, Let."
"Love you too Dom. Happy Valentine's Day."
Happy Valentine's Day! Came up with this as I was cooking dinner...
