The pandemic
I was walking down main street window shopping with Annabeth a few months after the war and it was getting close to Christmas I wanted to get something real nice for her and my mother. "So, Annabeth what are you hoping to get for Christmas?" "I don't know really, I just like whatever presents I do get usually my Dad takes me out to inner and we spend quality time together" she smiled at me. I told her that I had to go into the store we stopped at to buy my moms present "ill catch up to you" I told her "ok see you later" she called and walked down the road. I really didn't know what to get for her but I knew it had to be something to do with architect so thought harder then I knew. I found a book for making blueprints and some really expensive state of the art drawing pencils I couldn't afford a whole lot so I bought one and a cool pencil sharpener. As I walked down the store a TV with the news on it caught my attention. There was an announcer talking about the story "There has been a sudden Pandemic, a radiation leak has caused a very fast moving sickness to hit every continent, we advise everyone to stay indoors, the sickness may cause some people to act out. There is no scientific name for this sickness but people have been calling the dooms day device. We will have more on it later. Stay tuned." That sounded bad, real bad I needed to hurry up and find Annabeth. I ran down the road but I didn't have a clue where she went. I couldn't call her because she didn't have a cell phone and neither did I. Besides I don't think it would be very good "hey, we have a sickness going around, but Percy has also attracted monsters to New York what else can go wrong?" I turned the corner around a building and I saw Annabeth reading a newspaper by a stand. "Hey, Annabeth" I called she looked up and I saw it wasn't Annabeth it was someone else or something else. This creatures face was covered in blood and its flesh was decaying it had sharp teeth and claws and whatever it was it had blond hair like Annabeth. It started running at me and I pulled out riptide but when I slashed the creature I didn't do much more than cover it in ink. The thing wasn't affected by a monster killing sword. I ran from this thing and bumped right into the real Annabeth. "Ouch! Seaweed brain, what are you doing?" "There's this thing I don't know what it is, over there that won't die and I've stabbed it twice with riptide!" "what,how is that possible?" Asked Annabeth "didn't you see the TV"? "yes, it said something about a sickness". I grabbed her hand and pulled her with me "I think that's where the creature came from is the sickness" "Percy, don't be st-" she was interrupted by a bunch of screams we looked around an main street was empty suddenly all of these people err monsters or I don't know what they were but we were surrounded by them we tried attacking them but it didn't work. Suddenly the monster were being knocked down and I heard gunshots and soon all the monsters were gone. A girl in red came up to us "hi my names Zoey I'm here to help you"
