With a sigh Sarah sat down next to Kate on the pool bleachers.

"What's up?" asked Kate with a nervous glance at her blonde friend.

Sarah watched the boys swimming team troop out of the locker room before answering. "Caleb's out of town, and I've been having the nightmares again."

Three of the boys separated themselves from the group and walked over to where the girls were perched on the bleachers.

"Hey babe," said Pouge, planting a kiss on his girlfriend's cheek.

Tyler smiled at the two of them and sat down next to Pouge, looking with interest down at the currently empty pool.

A soft voice spoke in Sarah's ear, making her jump. "Did you miss us?" Reid smiled as he sat down next to Sarah, his blonde hair falling into his ice blue eyes.

"Don't do that!" said Sarah, clutching her heart.

"Sorry," said Reid with a small smile, "I didn't mean to scare you. Why are you so jumpy anyway? Usually that doesn't scare you."

Sarah stared at the boy beside her, clad in a swimsuit with a pair of sweatpants over it, his tattooed arms hanging at his sides, his blue eyes looking into hers.

"Ya," she said softly, "Sorry. It's just with Caleb gone I keep having these night…"

A whistle blew and the coach looked up at the group sitting on the bleachers, his small eyes almost closed with anger. "Garwin, Simms, Perry," he yelled, "Into the water!"

Reid smiled at Sarah, "Gotta go. Don't get into trouble while I'm gone."

A shaky laugh escaped her lips as the three boys descended the stairs and walked to the water.

"I'm spending the night at Pouge's," said Kate, tossing some of her clothes into an overnight bag. "You'll be okay on your own won't you?"

Sarah nodded and tried to continue her English essay, but a daunting picture of a large spider kept crawling across the surface of her mind. Finally deciding that no English would get done, she slammed her book shut and shoved it into her bag. A soft knock at the door made her jump, but she went over and opened it anyway.

"Hey," said Reid, "I noticed that you weren't at dinner, so I brought you something to eat." He was holding a tray piled high with some of her favorite foods.

Sarah smiled and took the tray from his hands, noticing the way his fingers trailed over hers. "Thanks. I just had a lot of work to do. Do you want to come in?"

Reid followed Sarah into her dorm room and sat down on Kate's bed as Sarah sat down on her bed and pick at the food that Reid has brought her.

"So what were you saying at the pool?" asked Reid, drumming his fingers against a book on Kate's bed.

Sarah swallowed and looked up into the eyes of her friend. "My nightmares are back. The ones where the spiders come for me. They always come when Caleb's gone. Like he's my talisman against them or something." She shrugged and placed the tray on the floor.

"So you don't sleep well?"

Sarah nodded and pulled a sweatshirt on that was sitting on the floor. "I keep thinking that Chase is still out there, and the spiders are a warning or something."

Reid's eyes glowed black for a moment, and Sarah yawned.

"Well you don't have to worry about that tonight," said Reid softly.

"And why is that?" asked Sarah, laying her head down on the pillow.

"You've got a Son of Ipswitch watching out for you even when Caleb's not here."

Sarah smiled as she drifted to sleep, "Thanks Reid."

Reid smiled a saddened smile as the rain began to fall outside the room. He walked quietly over to her sleeping form and placed a kiss on her forehead. "Sleep tight love."

He sat down on Kate's bed to keep watch over a girl that he loved but could never be with.
