Okie Dokie, this is my first and last Fruits basket fic. I created this little oneshot as a good-bye to my Fruits Basket fandom and would like to say that I truly, truly dislike the series now. I'm sorry if you happen to like the series, but I just found it so ANNOYING that Tohru set them free, woohoo, hip hip hooray! NOT. So this is in honor of my favorite character Akito. Enjoy.

Is this it? All alone, does no one even care…?

Akito sat on the edge of her porch clad only in a thin robe as they sun beat down on her frail form. She looked up as a passing flock of birds passed by, her eyes narrowed.

'They stay in a tight formation with their leader however…'

Soon the lead bird began to falter before falling back. Another bird immediately took its place and the former leader fell behind.

'They just replace the head…'

She growled and stood angrily her pale hands clenched into tight fists.

Only to double back down in pain, crimson blood flowing from her lips. She wiped her mouth with disdain, scowling at the stain on her otherwise pure white robe. She marched inside calling,

"HATORI! HATORI! Where are you!?" She shouted furiously.

When no one answered she growled, wrenching the paper doors open with a loud THWACK.

"Where is Hatori?" The young servant girl cowered from her deadly form.

"A-ano, Hatori-s-san is out. I-I don't know where he is" She squeaked.

Akito glared, "Fine! I don't need him! I don't need ANYONE!" She slammed the door again striding over to her futon and collapsing down on it. She curled up into a ball, her body wracked with violent spasms, and fell asleep.

oOoOoOoOoOo

Akito sat at the head of the room, her face blank, revealing nothing of the day before. She stared down at the 13 zodiac assembled before her. They all looked nervous, glancing at one another and at her. She smiled inwardly, 'Are they counting the minutes they're away from that stupid girl? Counting the seconds??'

She stood, "I think you'll be happy to know…" She turned her back to them and started to slowly pace around the floor, "that the reason I've gathered you all here today…" She picked up a stray bowl of water and stared at her reflection.

"Is that by 12:00 tomorrow afternoon, you will all be free from your curses and be able to live your life however you want to…" She didn't have to turn to feel the happiness, the relief, the excitement, protruding from the 13 beings in the room.

"Well aren't you happy now? I'm sure you will probably celebrate, have a giant feast!" She threw the bowl down at the word feast, the porcelain smashing near her feet. Of course, no one moved to help her. No one asked if she was ok. They didn't care.

They didn't care…

"Leave me alone" she whispered.

"Get out. GET OUT! GET OUT!!" She shrieked turning to them, her eyes wide with rage. Not one of them hesitated before bolting through the door. Not one of them turned to look at her. She crumpled on the floor, tears poured from her eyes at the little, tiniest bit of hope in her heart shattered. The tiniest ray of hope that they might have cared, they might have had a little bit of love for her. But of course, she straightened and wiped away the sliver of blood that came from the corner of her mouth, of course they hated her, cursed her… said her name with spite.

She walked towards her porch again and stood looking up at the sky, the storm-gray clouds reflected in her eyes and the rain began to pour.

"Is this it? Does no one even care….?"

At 12:00 sharp the next morning, Akito Sohma passed away.

Aaaaand there you go. Theres my little ditty. I would not enjoy being flamed so please don't bother. I would enjoy some feedback on my writing style though, or whatever. I thank you for reading.
