Before Han lands on Starkiller Base with Finn, he writes a letter to his son. Unfortunately, he is never able to give it to him before his death and lies burried in the snow.

My dear son Ben

I love you so much and care for you very deeply. I'm sorry and I humbly and desperately beg for your forgiveness. I'm sorry that I wasn't there when you needed me most and I'm sorry for fighting with you mother. Please know that I made a terrible mistake in continually abandoning you. I love you Ben. I truly do. I beg of you to come back to the Light and fight with your mother and I in the Resistance. Help us find your Uncle Luke. I know you won't respond to this right away and I don't expect you to. But when you do I'll be Waiting For You at the Resistance Base. I miss you Benjamin
