She watches as little crystals, like diamond raindrops float up from her body, and she thinks about how pretty they are, and it's almost funny because she's dying and all she can think about how pretty the fucking crystals are.

"Am I…the one who did this to you?"

And suddenly the diamonds aren't so pretty anymore and it's not funny at all because her heart is breaking with the crystals, and all she can do to lie to him, lie to this boy who sounds so scared, so horrified, so sad that he has hurt the girl he cannot even remember. It's not really a lie, right? She made him do that, she made him fight her. All so…

So she chokes out, "No…" even though it hurts to speak. She stares at his chest. "It was my choice…to go away now. Better that…then to do nothing…and let Xemnas have his way." She lifts her eyes to his face, searching, perhaps, for some confirmation that this in fact the right thing to do. "I belong with Sora. And now, I am going back…to be with him."

Confusion and something like jealousy twist easily into his desperate expression. She reaches up her hand as more diamonds float up to the sky to maybe become stars, and she wraps her fingers around his hand. "Roxas. I need you…to do me a favor. All those hearts that I've capture …Kingdom Hearts… set them free."

"Kingdom hearts…free them…?" he murmurs to himself, but she does not worry, because his heart will not forget her even after his mind has, and he will do as she asks.

And suddenly pain spikes through her legs and the same crystal raindrops that used to be pretty are now making her legs turn to shining stone. She almost laughs. She has possessed so many forms…how fitting, that the last would be stone. "It's too late…for me to undo my mistakes. But you can't let Xemnas have Kingdom Hearts. You can't." He watches as the diamond travels slowly up her legs, eyes desperate and sad because he wants to save her the same way he can't save himself. And she can't stand that look in his eyes, and so she says with some semblance of a smile, "Goodbye, Roxas. See you again. I'm glad…I got to meet you." She smiles at the sky. "Oh…and of course, Axel, too." She chokes out, voice dying and filled with tears, she says, "You're both my best friends…"

She reaches a hand up to rest it against his cheek, a vague semblance of what might have been had they both been normal, and she says, "Never forget. That's the truth."

And she thinks she might see his eyes widening, but everything's so blurry but she's still happy, because he's her best friend and he cared about her and and and…

And then she sees nothing at all.
