A/N: I believe I have just created a new ship. It is Magnus/Druitt/Tesla. I call it Magnittized. Tagline: Because everyone needs that extra spark in their relationship. Anyway, read the story. Let me know if I should right more with this triangle.
Together the three of them could rule the world.
How many times had Nikola told her that? Well, more like he and Helen could rule the world. The vampire had not counted that John might have been the missing link in his plans. But it was true that John was what was needed to take those final steps.
It was jealousy that had kept them back all these years. Most would believe the jealousy was between John and Nikola but Helen had a healthy dose of it as well. She was jealous of the men and their amazing gifts. All she really had was longevity and the ability to heal quickly. What she wouldn't do to be able to cross distances like John. Or grow fearsome fangs and claws as Nikola did. Perhaps to feel the wonder of growing invisible as Nigel could. Even to just be able to make James' incredible leaps in judgment would be better than what she had gained. She'd spent many uncharitable hours thinking that fate had been very unkind to her and thinking nasty thoughts about the others. Her jealousy of James and Nigel faded with their deaths but it was a long time before she could feel better around John and Nikola.
Most people would think that Helen was the bridge between the men. Most people would be wrong. John was the one that brought them all together.
Helen had always known that John Druitt was a master of seduction. How else did you explain their daughter from an era when good girls didn't even think about sex? What she didn't realize was that John was just as skilled at getting men into his bed as he was with women.
All Helen knew was that John managed to corner Nikola in the lab one late night. Every time she asked for details she was met with smirks from John and embarrassed muttering from Nikola. So she stopped questioning it.
After their past together, it wasn't much of a leap for Helen to fall back into bed with John again. Some days it shamed her how little seduction he had to use on her.
And with Nikola as the brains, John as the muscle and Helen as the figurehead, the world had easily fallen into their laps. One might even say they were happy to do so.
Which was what brought Helen out on this balcony surveying her empire in the still of the night while her men slept on in the bedroom behind her. She adjusted her short silk robe to be tighter around her body. "Helen? Are you out here?"
"Right here, Nikola," she called back.
The vampire came out and pressed against her back. She could tell by the feel of him that he hadn't bothered with robes as she had. "You know," he said, in between planting kisses on her neck and jaw, "if I were John, I'd have a wonderfully poetic line about your beauty and moonlight."
Helen chuckled as she titled her head to give him better access. "John is very quick with the romantic lines. I wonder if he has book of them or some such thing that he consults on a regular basis."
"Right now," a low voice growled. "John is wondering why the damn bed is so bloody cold."
Both Helen and Nikola laughed at that. "We shouldn't keep our lord and master waiting," Helen decided.
"True, he gets moody if you make him wait," Nikola agreed. He slowly pulled away and took her hand to tug her inside.
Helen gave one last look at her capital city and bid it farewell for the night as she followed Nikola back to bed. There she settled comfortably between John and Nikola, where she had always belonged.
