Unwanted
Her hands shook slightly as she lifted the drink to her lips. Her eyes were glued to the television screen as a young, golden eyed beauty smiled at the talk show host.
With poise and maturity the girl fielded every question, and the sweet light in her eyes never dimmed. When the show ended, the television clicked off immediately.
A muted whimper could be heard in the quiet room. Years of regret came flooding back in an overwhelming wave. Mogami Saena had convinced herself that what she'd done was best for herself and her daughter. At least she'd tried. She knew what kind of woman she was, and had told herself that Kyoko was better off without her. The Fuwa family cared for her daughter better than she had ever done.
That didn't lessen the pain of leaving. Or the guilt of imagining Kyoko's reaction to her abandonment. She'd paid the price for her stupidity. When she walked away that day eleven years ago, she'd given up her right to be a part of her daughter's life.
Never had she understood that more than now, as she watched her daughter's career skyrocketing, and realized that her sweet baby had become a woman. She smiled bitterly.
A single tear made a slow track down a hollowed cheek as a tired, lonely woman gazed out her window at the city lights.
A/N: I know that Saena isn't very popular (for good reason!), but I wanted to explore the possibility that she wasn't a complete witch and that she actually does regret what she did to Kyoko. This is my first foray into the SkipBeat! fic realm so be merciful even if you hate it please.
