Introduction:

In case you have never read any of the Halo books, I can tell you about them.
Flood - A race of parasitic creatures that intend to end all life in the galaxy.

Covenant - Multiple races of alien-like creatures. The Covenant consists of Brutes, Grunts, Elites, Hunters, Jackals, and Drones.

Spartan - Biologically augmented super beings that have amazing strength, speed, agility, etc.

Marines - Regular Human beings that serve in the army.

Forerunners - Somewhat robotic beings that control vast amounts of technology.
