Chapter One
Jinnxe POV
I walked as quietly as I could, as not to wake my sister. I crept past her and into the hallway. If I could just make it downstairs, she couldn't stop me.
"Jinnx? Where are you going?" a soft voice asked. Crap. I knew she would catch me; I just wanted to be far away from the house when she did.
"Really? Can you not sleep longer?" I whined as I turned and walked back to her. Her dark brown hair laid softly shoulders and down her back.
"No. Were you going to sneak off and try to become a State Alchemist?" she asked as I reached her. Geez, how does she catch onto every single thing?
"Maybe. How did you know Eva?"
"I always know what you're doing and thinking." Eva shrugged. I smiled. Of course she did. "Like right now you're smiling." Eva turned to face me. Her dark green eyes looked through me as they always did.
As always, I felt a twinge of regret. I blamed myself for Eva's blindness. If I hadn't of begged for her help, she would still see and I would still have my forearm.
"Jinnx? If you want to go, we need to head to Risenbool first to fix your automail. It's creaking slightly," Eva told me.
"Ok. Come on then, we need to catch a train."
