As the moon is rising
I sit here in this lonely field
I still await for the day you shall return
Though the night is dark and foreboding
I still feel your light inside my heart
And the memories, even if distant
Keep me believing
I saw your smile on that warm summer day
You looked just like a child
And though you've gone
So very far away
I still await for your return
Through darkness and light
I'll still reach to you
Even if you should forget all the times we shared
I will believe in the light
Of the new sun
And the courage for you to carry on
The shaking grounds of a shattered peace
Still ring through the great big world
And everyone is trying to find
That place again
I know it's hard to believe
But feeling you here with me
I feel the strength inside
And I know that someday soon
It will all end
I'll see your smile on that warm summer day
When you return from that lonely field
Through space and time
I'll reach out to you
And I'll feel your hand come into mine
