Brom Bones
Brom was at Katrina Van Tassel's party. He scowled as he watched Katrina Van Tassel dance with Ichabod Crane. Everyone else at the party was enjoying themselves, except for Brom. There were no words that could describe how much he hated Ichabod. He wanted to be the one that could make Katrina happy. Brom sat there feeling a bit envious and angry. He felt as though he wanted to his something. He closed his eyes pounding a fist on the table and trying to get his anger out.
Katrina smiled at Ichabod with a smile that lit up her whole face. Brom wished he were the one that could make her smile like that. Katrina danced there in a stunning red dress and her hair tied up in a simple bun. When the music was over, Katrina and Ichabod sat down on a bench nearby. Brom glared as he tried to figure out a way to get rid of Ichabod Crane. He tried not to make his jealousy too obvious as the people around him were still having fun.
The hours passed by quickly, and Brom was still mad. Katrina was pleading for Ichabod to stay, but Brom told Ichabod that there was no room. Ichabod walked out feeling scared. Brom was clueless about what the night would bring. Ichabod walked over to his horse and took off into the night. Brom walked over to Katrina's father and tried to convince him that Ichabod was wrong for Katrina. Brom let out a frustrated sigh as Katrina's father kicked him out of the house. He walked over to his horse, Daredevil, and climbed on to his back.
Daredevil walked down the road on a simple trot. The stars were blanketing the sky, and the moon just sat there high in the sky. The sound of the owl's hoots could be heard, and the wind whispering into the night. Brom let out a deep breath and closed his eyes. He quickly opened them and looked around. The sound of two horses could be heard. Ichabod was racing down the road on his horse Gunpowder. The wind grew stronger, and the Headless Horseman appeared. He sat there on his tall, black horse that looked as scary as he did. The Horseman's onyx black cape was blowing in the wind, and the fog was thick in the air.
Brom hid in the woods nearby and watched the scene play out in front of him. Ichabod was egging on his horse to go faster. Ichabod looked behind to see the Headless Horseman catching up quickly. Ichabod let out a shaky breath as he tried to outrun the Headless Horseman. Brom watched as the Horseman brought out a big, orange pumpkin that was lit on fire. His eyes widened as he eagerly waited for the Horseman to kill Ichabod Crane.
The Headless Horseman let out a evil cackle and threw the pumpkin at Ichabod. The fog got thicker, and Brom couldn't see if the pumpkin got Ichabod or not. Brom listened for the sound of horse hooves to fade away. He slowly came out and started heading back home. Brom couldn't help but grin. He knew that Ichabod wasn't going to come back to Sleepy Hollow.
As the days passed, Brom had convinced Katrina to marry him. The day of the wedding followed soon afterwards. Brom was leading Katrina up to the altar. Katrina smiled brightly in her elegant, white wedding dress. Brom paused a few minutes, and Katrina looked at him feeling a bit confused by the sudden stop. Brom looked away knowing what happened to Ichabod. He still chuckled at the memory of Ichabod and the pumpkin. Katrina felt a bit uncomfortable as they stood there, and Brom finally began walking again. Brom finally pushed the thoughts aside and concentrated on what was happening now.
