[Annabeth sometimes has causal blank spots and deafening senses.]

Things escalate rather quickly, as a blonde-haired teenage girl has recently found out.

Her mind was still inhaling the scene as his green-eyes met hers in a staring contest, later fading away as she won a third time in a row. She sees herself moving her arm and hand to adjust the black frame of her eyeglasses and him pulling her closer into his warmth.

She felt secure and so damn warm. It was almost suffocating and caging as she immediately pulled away and slide down from his lap onto the icy cold of the outdoor benches of New York. He glance over her again, in a different light. Green eyes hardening into a jade instead of emerald shade; the change almost caused her to flinched and pull away even farer—the only thing stopping her from doing so was his strong arm around her waist.

Her eyes watch as his mouth moved, but no words fell out. From his expression, they were not playful nor appropriate-wise, either. She begins to panic, thrusting her head from left to right, in hopes of finding someone—anyone that could help her. Her heart sank slowly as all she found were the empty, snowed fields of the central park and half-dead, frozen trees. She felt a hand—his cold and hard, though calm and tender hand press slightly on her cheek.

It felt so familiar, yet so distant. Perhaps it was her imagination, but she had swore to herself that she saw hurt cross his face. It took seconds to process the next event as his lips met against hers in dove-gentle pressure. She froze and after what seem like a century, closed her eyes as a cold blast of wind whirled passed them and she held onto him tightly.

Her ears popped and for once, he pulled away from her for a breath of air. She stared at him, wondering who he was until the glass shattered in her eyes. He smiled, and watched as her orbs shined with a rather cute dimple on her cheek as she also reflected the expression.

"Welcome back, Wander Girl," he mumbled the nickname amusingly.

Five seconds later—
