A name

He sat on the edge of the bed contemplating how things had spiraled so far out of his control. He rubbed his temples and sighed. Sleep had evaded him for the last few days and the effects were beginning to show. He didn't know what was worse, knowing what was to come and having no clue how to stop it, or to have to pretend that everything was fine and wait for your life to eventually go to hell. He wished he could confide these dreams to someone but currently he had no one. What was he to tell his mother, "hey mom, I have been having dreams of the future… and guess what you fall of a broken bridge and die! And I become a L'c". That would go over so nicely.

It was strange though, he felt so close to these people who he has never meet in his entire life, but living through these dreams and surviving with them, it made him happy to think that he could have such close companions. Maybe it made him selfish for not making any effort to try to fix what was going to happen.

The alarm went off on the table next to his bed. Hope slammed his fist on the thrice damn machine to shut it up. "Great another sleepless night" hope growled. He dragged himself off the bed and threw on whatever clothing he grabbed from the growing pile of junk in the corner of his room. Or what used to be in the corner it had spewed to nearly the middle of the room "god I have to clean this place". Hopes room was pretty plain, it had bare white walls and only two major pieces of furniture, his bed and a chair old brown wooden chair by the door, his blankets were the only splash of color the room had, being a deep royal blue color and a yellow pillow case. On the side of his bed were a stack of Hope's favorite books, his laptop rested on top of those.

"Hope!" his mother called from the living room, "are you up yet"

"Yes mother" hope yelled back and as he grabbed his backpack from off the chair by his door. walking into the living room he grabbed an orange from a bowl on the counter and sat at the table. His mother looked at him and frowned "are you feeling ok you look real pale" Nora inquired worriedly. "Nora leave the boy alone he's fine" Bartholomew grumbled as he entered the room. Hope glared at his father, but his gaze softened as he looked back at his mother "I'm fine mom just didn't get a lot of sleep last night.

His mother didn't look sure but he nodded and said ok. "Well you had better get to school then if you aren't feeling sick then" Hope's mom said leaning down and brushing his pale white hair out of his face. Hope sighed but got up leaving the half eaten orange on the table. "Have a good day at school" his mother called to his retreating form. Hope rolled his eyes but replied with a "thanks I will" over his shoulder, as he left the house.

School, what a joke nothing he learned there was of any use for what was to come. Everything he knew of the world came, or better put would come from Lightning, the fiery pink haired ex-soldier who protected him and taught him how to survive. She was like a big sister and a mentor. Even though hope hand never truly met her he loved her for helping him just as he loved Vanille, Sazh, Fang, and Snow, but out of everyone he looked up to her the most.

This time would be different he would not be the helpless spoilt boy, he would save Vanille and Lightning.

This time no one would disappear
