If I had just one tear
Running down your cheek
Maybe I could cope
Maybe I'd get some sleep
If I had just one moment at your expense
Maybe all my misery
Would be well spent...yeaaaa
Marian sat by her window as she watched Robin walked away. The way he smiled made her heart skip a beat but she reminded herself that he left without goodbye. She had cried so many nights while he was away. She vowed to never let him back into her heart and her soul.
Could you cry a little?
Lie just a little
Pretend that your feeling a little more pain
I gave now I'm wanting
Something in return
So cry just a little for me
She was livid when she saw him act coolly towards her as if nothing happened. He smiled and greeted her as she held the bow and arrow, poised to shoot. She didn't show it though. The many months with nothing but pain over his betrayal taught her that. She had become a master at hiding her emotions.
If your love could be caged, honey, I would hold the key
And conceal it underneath the pile of lies you handed me
And you'd hunt and those lies
They'd be all you'd ever find
And that'd be all you'd have to know
For me to be fine
Even though Guy of Gisborne gave her the bad kind of shivers down her spine, she knew it was the only way to get Robin to see the mistake he had made. Though she was helping him with his mission; she wouldn't allow him to get close to her again, no matter how hard he tried. She gave Robin her heart the moment he said "I love you." They spent many days riding horses and spending as much together as the hours of the day would allow. Now that he was back, she wondered if he felt any regret leaving. Late at night, as she laid in bed awake just crying. Her heart hurt without him but he threw it away when he left.
And you'd cry a little
Die just a little
And baby I would feel just a little less pain
I gave now I'm wanting
Something in return
So cry just a little for me
Give it up baby
I hear your goodbye
Nothin's gonna save me
I see it in your eyes
Some kind of heartache
Darlin give it a try
I don't want pity
I just want what is mine
Marian knew Robin was angry when he heard that she was to marry Sir Guy of Gisborne. She was supposed to feel victory over hurting him the way he hurt her but instead she felt numb. It wasn't supposed to end that way, he was supposed to realize his betrayal and she would be victorious but she felt nothing. No joy, no pain. Just numbness.
Yeah.. Could you cry a little
Lie just a little
Pretend that you're feeling a little more pain
I gave now I'm wanting
Something in return
So cry just a little for me
Cry just a little for me
Could you cry just a little for me?
Sir Edward may act like he clueless to what was going on, but no father could ignore his child's pain. He tried to talk Marian out of the marriage to Sir Guy but it was no use. He wanted her happy. The way she was before Robin left. A smile always graced her angelic face and her blues twinkled. But now, no smile came and her eyes were dead. There was in laughter in her voice, just hopelessness. Sir Edward prayed for a miracle and it was answered
As Marian ran out of the chapel with the guests whispers of shock and surprise, Marian's heart would not allow her to marry a man she felt nothing for. Her heart leaped when she spotted Robin on his horse. She smiled and ran towards him.
"Do you take this man and this horse as your escape?" he asked,
"I do." She answered with a smile. He leaned down and she pressed her lips to his. He broke through her wall of ice and she felt warm all over. They were meant to be. He lifted her onto his horse and she wrapped her arms around him as they galloped off. After many months and days and nights, Marian felt no pain. She felt happy and complete.
