Title: Trust Your Eyes

Chigusa can see things a thousand miles away, all around, above or below, and that for a thousand miles only parched desert surrounds him. He can look at things and through them until they lose shape and form and meaning, and become nothing. He can see the Prince is an ayame, death and poison to their world, and does not flinch when the monster looks right back and smiles, a thousand miles away in a dying city --

Chigusa opens his eyes and sees flowers, trees and more plants than he can name, blue sky and sun overhead through the interspersed leaves. He sees a boy, who looks exactly like the Prince, only his hair is red and he is frowning at the flowers crushed underfoot.

For the first time in his life, he cannot believe his eyes.
