3x22 scene I would have liked. Different than the end of the episode. Also I know there are some inconsistencies that don't exactly fit with the season but I really wanted it to be written like this so sorry
It had been a very long couple days for Hook and Emma. Once they explained what happened to Snow and David the adrenaline began to wear off from them actually making it back and the weariness began to set it. The pair was sitting across from Snow and David. Hooks head was laying back, eyes closed but not yet asleep. While Emma's eyes struggles to stay open and her head kept drooping to Hook's shoulder but she kept resisting. David nudged Snow as Emma seemed to finally succumb to her weariness and Hook wasn't far behind.
"Ok guys, time to get you guys to bed" David says just loud enough to wake them
"What I'm not asleep" Emma says blinking tiredly
"Course not love, and neither was I" Hook says stretching and then standing causing him to stumble slightly
"Easy there Captain" David says steadying him and Hook smiles to acknowledge his thankfulness
"Come along Swan" he says pulling her out of the seat and helping her drowsily walk to the car as Snow and David say goodbye to everyone. The pair climb into the back seat while David starts the car and Snow sits beside him in the passenger seat. Not long after they left David looks in the rear view and mirror and nudges Snow motioning for her to look back. Hooks head it resting on the window, eyes closed and breathing even with one arm wrapped around Emma. She is snuggled into his side, head resting on his shoulder, sound asleep causing Snow to smile at the scene before her, happy her daughter was home safe. They arrived at the loft and David went around and gently shook Hook awake
"What's going on?" Hook asks confused
"We're at the loft, are you good to bring her in or should I?" He asks softly motioning toward the still sleeping Emma. Hook blinks a couple times to clear his head
"I got her" he says gently getting out of the car and lifting Emma as well. She unconsciously wraps her arms around his neck and buries her head in his chest. Hook gently carries her up the stairs and Snow opens the door for him
"Thank you m'lady " Hook says quietly and he ascends the stair case to Emma's old room. He carefully removes her boots and uncomfortable jacket but figures she would be fine to sleep in the rest. He pulls the blankets over her and begins to walk out with the intention of sleeping on the couch but is stopped by a sound coming from the bed
"Stay" Emma murmurs tiredly "stay please"
"As you wish" he says, removing his own shoes and jacket. He climbs into bed beside her and let's her rest her head on his chest, feeling the tension leave her body and allowing the sleep to come over him as well. Snow walked up the stairs to see what was taking so long and smiled at how peaceful the two looked and soon she hears Charming behind her.
"Granny called, Regina took Henry home but Neal is getting cranky and she was wondering if I could come get him, so I'm gonna go…"
He trails off when he sees Emma and Hook and goes to wake him but Snow stops him.
"They have had a very long and exhausting couple days, leave them be" she says pushing him away
"How can you tell me to just leave them! They are.." Gesturing at the bed unsure of what to say
"They are just sleeping. Sleep they both need and deserve. Know go get our other child so he can sleep too" she said softly pushing him away from the door.
"Fine" he grumbles and leaves.
The next morning Killian wakes up and sees his Swan laying with him, the morning sun gleaming on her blonde curls. He realizes that for the first time in hundreds of years, he slept without nightmares. He gently kisses the top of Emma's head and goes back to sleep
