James' Revelation

The Boss pressed a button.

"Yes, Boss?" A voice said warily through the intercom.

"Send in my next appointment." The boss said shortly. This ought to be good. The sliding door opened, and three figures stepped in.

"Prepare for trouble." Jessie mumbled nervously.

"Yeah, make that double for me.." James agreed. Meowth looked at both of them and sighed. The boss leaned back in his chair and smiled.

"This makes for a fun day, now doesn't it? All right, lets see what we have here.. Ah, you three haven't caught a pokemon for me in nearly eight months? You've been chasing some no-talent kids for all that time? And in the process you wrecked two of the plans of my other faction and got them in jail, twice? Is that true?" James nodded, but Jessie hit him and said,

"Well, not exactly. We caught two pokemon."

"Which ones?" he asked, "Show me." Jessie proudly released her Lickitung and James reluctantly released his Victreebell. Suddenly, without warning, his head was in the Victreebell's mouth. He uttered a muffled,

"Return!" and it disappeared around him.

"That's all?" The boss asked. Jessie nodded, but James hadn't the guts to hit her and so just said proudly,

"Well, we had many madcap mishaps that were quite humorous to the audience and ratings went up." The boss looked sharply at him.

"What ARE you talking about?" He muttered angrily. James looked innocent.

"You mean you didn't know?"

"Know what?" Jessie asked, now curious. James looked smug.

"Well, we are all on a TV show and the main characters are those brats, so we will never get good enough to beat them, no matter how hard we try. Also, we can never catch the Pikachu, because that would make the series defunct. Basically we are just comic relief. In fact, we don't even have our own voices. I am voiced by Eric Stuart and you are voiced by Rachel Lillis. Our show isn't even very popular among the great majority. Adults dismiss it as a cartoon and not any good and the teens laugh at all who like it. We really don't have much purpose in life." He was met with astonished stares, "What, you didn't know? I kind of figured it out when I realized that nearly every day we are blasted into the sky somehow, followed by a ping and we never seem to land and injure ourselves. Besides, even normal villains get ahead sometimes!" He was met again with stares. Then, after a silent moment had passed, all of them burst into laughter, even the Boss.

"Right!" Meowth said, laughing hysterically, "A TV show!" Jessie beat him over the back, laughing.

"Nice one! We'll never win! HA!" They left, and he was left with the boss.

"I'm gonna let you off with a warning this time, just because of that!" The boss said between guffaws, "You're a riot!" James noticed that his face had a large, two-dimensional sweatdrop flowing down it, and he added that to the list of reasons. Then he sighed, noting the flat puff and walked sadly out of the room, thinking,

"Why don't I just keep my big mouth shut?"
