"I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Y-Yeah, sure thing."

This isn't the first time that her brother had stuttered when speaking to the fifteen year-old female and it's now been confirmed that it won't be the last. Sixteen year-old Tuppence watched as Lorina flashed her pearly whites at her big brother by only three minutes before going back to her family's side.

She knew it was just a matter of time until he got the guts to ask her out. Her brother never said anything to her about it, but she could tell with the way his eyes would linger on the road come summer breeze in anticipation of her arrival and the way he was so careful around her because she was a porcelain doll to them. But that wasn't what bothered her. What bothered her was the social standing set between them. It didn't matter to the twins none but it would and did matter to Lorina's family – and one day it would matter to Lorina herself too (if it already didn't).

And Tuppence couldn't stand for it, to see her brother to get hurt by his (silly little) crush.

Which is why she went to his side and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Forget her, Tommy; she ain't ever going to give everything up just for you. That's just the way it is." She gave his shoulder a hard squeeze and it shook him to his very core as he understood the meaning behind it. 'And you'll wind up breakin' her.' And he couldn't decide which was worse, her silent reminder of what they're capable of or that he already knew. But he's learned how to control his strength; they both have, and there's no way that he would ever hurt her. . .

Not intentionally at least. And knowing that he could unintentionally cause her bodily harm absolutely terrifies him. He tries, actually tries, to keep his unbelievable strength in check but there have been incidents where he let it get the best of him. . .

The female Terror continues to stare long and hard at her older brother, gauging his reaction to her words. She expects him to deny it – his affection towards the petite thing – and stomp off or growling at her about how she isn't like any of them "purebred, rich folks" and how she won't ever be like them.

So it catches her off guard when she notices the small, mischievous grin on his face as he said, ". . . Yeah, that's the way it is. But whoever said that it's gotta stay that way?"
