Hurricane in the Ballroom!

Let's play villain -
We can tear up the town.
We can show them just what they are,
A tainted frown begging to be drowned.

Our past is multiple choice -
Like a cruel and funny game.
But we'll write the reality of now in stone,
So they can't hide it in pathetic shame

See, there's a hurricane in the ballroom -
It's elegance gone wrong.
Chaos underlies composure;
Madness and sanity only apart by a single song.

They have the same potential,
The same chance of losing it all.
This train has been wrecked
Because no one can stop their own fall.

Haven't you seen it?
The bad joke known as order?
The lies roll off their tongues
As more schemers construct borders.

You've never seen the other side,
But never is about to end.
Your own mind slips away -
Your grasp no more stable than a fashion trend.

So let's just play villain
And we'll destroy it all;
If we just play monster
They won't know us until they fall!

Author's Note: Hope you enjoyed that little reflection of my obsession with the Joker. Honestly, the words "hurricane in the ballroom" just popped into my mind a while ago and then I wrote a poem about it. It became Joker-y because... well, nothing isn't at this point. Anyway, this was just something I wrote for fun, and I thought I could share it with a few people. The alternative title was "Playing Villain" but I decided on "Hurricane in the Ballroom!" because it's a more potent line, and also because it's the one I elaborated on to write the entire poem.
