Love Me?

By: Forgotten Moments

"Do you love me?" The blonde whipped her head around so fast, she was surprise she didn't get whiplash.

"I'm sorry, what?" Kim asked, not sure if she heard him right. Her honey-colored eyes were wide as she stared at the tall brunet leaning against her doorway. He had his arms crossed and had a cocky smirk playing at his lips.

"I asked," he spoke slowly as if he was talking to a small child. "Do you love me?" Kim ducked her head in embarrassment and used her blonde hair to cover her rosy cheeks.

"Why do you want to know, Jack?" She squeaked. Jack chuckled and shook his head. Uncrossing his arms, he walked over to Kim.

"Because it's only fair that you tell me," he paused to let the blonde figure the rest out for herself.

"What do you mean by fair? I owe you nothing," she retorted. Placing her book down, she crossed her arms and furrowed her eyebrows, deep in thought. A few stray locks of blonde hair fell over her honey eyes that were narrowed in concentration. Jack chuckled again as he brushed the strands out of her eyes. His fingers skimmed her forehead, causing Kim to shiver and get goose bumps, even when the contact was minimal.

"You're cute with your eyebrows all scrunched up," Jack whispered, shooting the blonde a small smile. Kim's cheeks turned red again and she jerked her head away from Jack's touch and looked at her lap. She uncrossed her arms and clasped them on her lap, determined to look anywhere, but at Jack. "Aw, you're blushing, that's adorable," Jack cooed, which was unlike his usual demeanor. The Southern Belle giggled; this time, it was Jack's turn to look like a fire truck. He cleared his throat awkwardly. "So, you still haven't answered my question."

"I'm sorry, what was the question again?" Kim trailed off, raising an eyebrow, and trying to play the dumb card.

"Do you love me?" Jack leaned in even closer and placed an arm on each armrest. His face was only a few inches away so Kim could feel his warm breath fanning across her face. She swallowed and mumbled her answer.

"Yes."

"I'm sorry, what was that?"

"Yes," Kim repeated a little louder.

"Nope, I still can't hear you," Jack teased. Kim huffed as her eyes narrowed into a glare directed at the brunet black belt.

"Jackson," she said sternly with a warning edge in her voice.

"Kimberly," Jack mocked, imitating her voice. He smiled at the girl under him and lowered his head even more.

"Goddamn it, Jack!" She shouted. "Fine, I love you okay! Are you happy now?" She exploded. Jack's smile widened into a grin.

"Very," he whispered before closing the unwanted gap between their lips.
