Walking through hell
AN: Hey people, this is my first go at fanfiction, so please don't be harsh! This is a simple one-shot that I did before HoH was out, so bear with me, and thanks for reading!

A high-pitched scream pierced the night air, sending chills up Annabeth's spine. Her eyes wandered the horizon, till they came to rest on a dim blue light, emanating like a rainbow from a prism. Dragging her ankle across the rocky terrain, she hurried forward, aware of the out-of-place rustling. It wouldn't have worried her under normal circumstances but she couldn't shake the feeling off.
Percy followed behind, wary of sharp rocks that loomed out of nowhere.
"Stupid rock.." he muttered, after almost tripping and falling face-first on the ground (or whatever it was) "Stupid Tarta…oomph!" he said, bumping into Annabeth, and gently rubbing his head. The blue light caught his eye too, but something just seemed wrong about. At the sight of any blue, Percy would be whooping like a kid on a sugar high, yet there was a dark and mysterious feeling at the back of his mind.
They stayed rooted to the spot, unsure of what to do next, but neither uttered a word. Sitting down, their breaths ragged and labored, they closed their eyes, and both imagined a place away from hell, away from the darkness, away from danger, together.
"We should get going again, you know. The monsters could find us at any time" Annabeth whispered. Forging ahead, they plunged themselves further in Tartarus, unaware of the dangers that they were to face.
Well, I'll admit it's not very long, but I just wanted to try. Thanks for reading, and please leave some reviews!
