This memorial is hard for me to write I grew up on Gene Wilder. The original Willy Wonka is a icon, and a legend in the movie world.

R.I.P Mr. Wonka you wont ever be forgotten

It was a somewhat sunny day as the gate to the factory creaked open by the familiar hand of Charlie. He was surprised to find the factory looking deserted.

As he walked up the door he laid his hand upon the handle, expecting it to be locked as Willy always kept it. Charlie was stunned to find it unlocked.

Stepping inside Charlie shut the door gently behind him afraid to startle any of the oompa loompas that might have been around.

It was so quiet though as if the place had lost the happiness it lived on. Charlie walked down the hall to the door leading to the chocolate fountain room.

Opening the door Charlie was surprised the find all the oompa loompas standing around crying. The fountain was off, the flowers and candy had wilted, and there by the bank of the now long stilled river sat a large glass covered, stone based object.

Charlie's breath hitched in his throat he didn't want to think it, he didn't want to believe it true. Willy had been like a father to him, a mentor, the reason he had grown up happy and knowing the true value of what life could be on both sides of poverty, and being taken care of money wise.

Charlie's legs shook as he got closer to the tomb and with a wail from his throat he bursted into tears as he looked down upon the face of Willy Wonka.

"Wh..at happened?," Charlie asked so quietly that only the oompa loompa beside him heard him.

"He became sick, he didn't want you to know Charlie he wanted you to live happily and to enjoy the world before your time came to take over the factory,"

"I wish I had known I would have came home sooner,"

"We know Charlie, but he didn't want that he asked us to make sure you had proper time to mourn him when you do find out. The factory will stay silent til your ready to bring it to life again," Charlie didn't know what to say as he sat down with his back against the tomb.

"When?,"

"August 29th"

"Thank you," as Charlie said that they all sat down but Charlie wept the hardest he didn't get to say goodbye, he didn't get to see his friend one last time.

He knew he had to respect Willy's wishes though and he would in time the factory would be alive with magic again and his memory would live on forever.

Charlie knew this was where he belonged, when the factory worked again he would let Willy stay here in the garden to rest, cause that after all is where Willy had taught him the most important thing that 'pure imagination' was the most important thing to have.
