Charlie wasn't exactly sure what he was getting himself into. This would be the first time he'd ever gone to a Weasley family holiday since… well… it's been a while. Family reunions were always something he enjoyed, even though he'd been in Romania for a seven years already. Heading over to the head dragon tamer's tent, Charlie waved to Mike, working at his desk. The captain gave him a sharp nod and returned to his paperwork. The Weasley headed over to the fireplace, taking a pinch of the shimmery green powder and throwing it into the glowing flames. The green fire burst to life, flaring.
"The Burrow!"
After the sensation of being sucked through a tube stopped, his childhood home materialized around him. Stepping out of the fire, Charlie's eyes wandered over to the famous Weasley clock where his hand was just returning to "Home". Since he had left for Romania, he hadn't seen the clock. There were a few new hands, some he recognized, some he didn't.
A hand decorated with a lightning bolt. Harry Potter.
A simple hand in a light purple. Lavender Weasley.
Her hand showed she wasn't a Weasley. Hermione Granger.
A French styled metal hand. Fleur Delacour-Weasley.
A small hand labeled Victoire Weasley.
His eyes settled on his own hand, a tiny dragon breathing fire etched on the base.
Suddenly, Charlie heard a commotion outside, seeing that everyone else was outside, therefore probably making him one of the last ones there. He hurried outside only for his middle to be squeezed tightly.
Molly Weasley may have been his mother, but her hugs hadn't gotten any weaker.
"Gosh ma, it's just me, Charlie." he wheezed out, trying to pry his mother's arms off his body.
After he managed to console his mother's need for what he's been doing with his life since he'd been here last, Charlie headed for the makeshift Quidditch pitch where most of the boys were playing a pick up game. Oh, and Ginny, too. Deciding to sit out for a round, he sat on the grass next to some others who would rather watch.
A small mousy girl, with rather pretty brown hair was who he happened to sit next to. She smiled brightly at him.
"Hi, I'm Lavender Weasley. Ron-Ron's wife."
Charlie's eyebrows almost raised at the nickname, but he shook it off. "Charlie Weasley. The hunkier older brother that changed Ron-Ron's diapers."
The lass giggled, shaking her head slightly. "It's nice to meet you."
"Likewise."
The two ended up chatting about dear Ronald for the entirety of the Quidditch match, Charlie sharing some embarrassing stories of Ron's childhood while Lavender contributed to the cauldron of some of his ridiculous pranks he'd been caught in at school.
After the matriarch of the family called everyone in to eat, Charlie found that he was sitting next to Ron.
"How you doing, Ron-Ron?"
