Serena opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling for a few moments she realized that it has been fifity years since she left the academy. As well as joining squad ten through hard work , blood, sweat and tears. It has been ten since she made the third seat.
Smiling she made her futon and said good morning to her house keeper named Rai, then left to start her morning training with her zapakuto before going to work. About two hours after the sun rose , Serena went back home to wash up . Her house was in the nicest part of the rukongai with six rooms and a big court-yard. Over time some of the rules changed and squad members could choose to live in the barracks or a place of their own. Only if the location is close to their squad head office just in case of an emergency.
It took a little over twenty years after she joined squad ten with her small salary to save for it and then to hire a house keeper but it was well worth it . After her training she checked in with her captain Toshiro Hitsugaya and his lieutenant Rangiku Matsumoto .
It was no surprise for her, when she saw him doing all the paper work and Matsumoto-san laying on the couch taking a cat nap .Serena always thought that they were a good match for each other and when she would say so in a laughing tone. She would laugh even harder when he tries to deny it with a red face.
Laughing as she ran out of his office before her captain could turn her into an ice pop( not the Elementa would let him), she could hear Matsumoto- san laughing. As well her captain screaming about how something was supposed to be a secret. As she is walking back to her desk, a grin finds its way to her face as she remembers her first week. When she was promoted to third seat and Matsumoto- san took her bar hopping to celebrate.
They drank until the sun came up, but it seem that Serena could her liquor better than Matsumoto- san. So from then on she goes with Matsumoto- san whenever she needs a good drinking buddy. So their captain can have a piece of mind from time to time to finish the rest of the work.
After finishing her paperwork, she headed over to Captain Orihime Inoue of squad four for one of her home cooked meals. Honestly they aint so bad if someone just helped her while she was cooking. After having several lunches with Captain Orihime and her friends then learning about the human world, she made it a habit to always join them .
Serena could get her mind off how cute the quincy name Uryu Ishida, and how he would look without his glasses. She wondered if he was single , after the Quincy War things cooled off after about 100 years and the quincys now had a place in the ranks. Serena would always catch him looking at her when he thinks she's not looking with a soft look in his eyes.
After lunch she had some time off before her patrol, so she went to her favorite thinking spot. There was a small hill where a cherry grows by itself and as she layed to think about things. Before she know it she had drifted up to sleep and dreamed strange things. At first it was about her and Ishida- kun ( which was the part she liked ), then it changed. Out of nowhere can flying bats , crazy cats, swimming sharks, and a smart mouth little gun.
Serena jump up with alarm and looked around finding no one around but the greenery around her . Looking at the sunset she saw it was almost time for her patrol in the Rukon district . It was a few minutes after her shirt was over when she felt a hollow near by flash stepping to it's location, it was attacking a man and woman.
They looked like they weren't going to last long with her help as she rushed to help them . Serena heard two vocies inside her asking " please save our masters", trying to clear her mind she acted quickly before the hollow could gave the killing blow. She drew her zapakuto and sliced it in half , turning toward them . Noticing the man looked very familiar with green eyes pale face and black hair.
The woman had dark skin with blonde hair and was badly injured . The man was trying to hold her up while barely holding himself up. As she walked toward them to help , they saw her and tried to run . Serena watched as they tried to move but the woman fell to her knees, the man tried to get her back up. Moving toward them again.
" let me help you , both of you need medical help."
The man turned toward her with a glare the gave her chills, "we didn't want help from shingami trash.
