A/N: So, my first Twilight fanfic (not my first ever fanfic). I wrote this at 1am this morning and I've had this idea in my head for a couple of days. It came to me while watching an episode of Ashes to Ashes. Anyway, Enjoy!
Moments from Death
Chapter one
"I'll miss you," I mumbled into his chest. "I never like it when you leave," I then added.
He chuckled. "I know, Bella. But you know I have to hunt. I'll be back in two days," he held me closer.
"Maybe someday I'll be able to hunt with you," I said. He reacted the way I thought he would. He froze. I sighed, knowing that it was going to take a lot more to get him to change me.
"Bella," Edward started.
"I know, I know," I interrupted him. I'd heard this a million times.
He pulled away from me and said, "I have to go. They're waiting for me. See you in two days." He kissed my forehead and then added "Oh and Bella, try not to hurt yourself while I'm away."
"I'll be careful," I said but he was already gone.

I stumbled out of my truck and onto the icy ground which had a thin layer of snow already on it. There was a group of people having a snowball fight nearby so I tried to hurry away only to slip on the ice and fall. It had only taken a couple of hours to hurt myself. Wonder how many more accidents I would have while he wasn't here.
I picked myself up off the ground but only to hear the ear splitting screech of a car braking coming right towards me.
I quickly turned in the direction of the sound, almost falling over again whilst I did so, and saw I was correct.
It was like déjà vu all over again. But this time Edward wasn't there.
Nobody to save me.
The car was spinning out of control towards me and I had no escape.
Nobody to save me this time.
And before I knew it, everything went black.
