ITS LATE! I know, I know! If it makes you feel better it was written on the 3rd and 4th I was just out of wifi and cell service for most of the weekend so it didn't get posted till now. At any rate, HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY AMERICA! Thanks for all you do!
"Your who I'm training" the blonde looked forward, eye glistening with a fire of the days that lay ahead. From what Gilbert heard this boy was all smiles and boyish charm, but so far the Prussian saw no sign of that, only the look of a determined young man. But Gilbert knew better, he stared into those deep blue iris until he saw it. It was quick and without a well-trained eye, one would have missed it completely, but Gilbert was trained and he saw it. Not regret really, but maybe sadness or longing. Some stir of emotion that made him wonder if this kid had the nuts to take down an empire such as the British, who were a force to reckoned with and if Prussia was saying that, then it meant something,
"Look kid-" Gilbert started.
"I know sir," He cut in not looking away from his stance. Francis must have got to him first. "But I intend to face him on the battlefield and I intend to win" This boy seemed unwavering but Gilbert wasn't too sure.
"Is being under his rule so bad"
"No Sir" he yelled suddenly that fire in his eye burning brighter. "I love England, and I would never want to hurt him, but if this is what I have to do to be seen, if this is what I have to do to be strong, if this is what my people want, and they do, I know they, do then I'll fight, and I'll win"
"How do you know your people want it" Was the next question that bubbled to the surface.
"I feel it something is stirring something is changing, and I talk to them, they want this and I will not let them down" Prussia nodded feeling satisfied with the answer, spoken like a true nation.
"Grab your bayonet son, will practice with those first"
"How are you feeling Alfred" the boy just shrugged not taking his lifeless eye from the place where England had been not more than an hour before. Prussia sighed he didn't think he had it, but he was proven wrong. This kid was strong and could be very powerful one day. But if he dwelled on the feelings of others, he would be quickly taken over. Slinging an arm over his should he start leading him away.
"Let me show you something" They walked to a grassy hill that was dotted with flowers. Those deep blue eyes, whose fires died with the surrender of Great Britain were now gazing at a small village. "This is yours now. Those people are you citizens and you are at there mercy remember you live for your citizens now" Alfred's lips twitched up into a small, as he his eyes locked on a young blond boy cough tint he ruckus of celebrations. He was singing a song of freedom something his men sang when things seemed glum. A smile set into his cheeks, this first one in a long time. He wondered if 230 years later if his children would still celebrate what they accomplished on this day. He hoped that he would be strong and powerful then, so he may protect what was most important. And although at one time that had been England, his people, his children, were the most important.
"I will protect them, I will serve my time to make sure that ever woman, child and man is happy and protected and freely with in my borders."
"That will never happen" Gilbert laughed without humor at the dream.
"Then I will never stop working I guess," He answered with a nod.
