It was an ordinary day. Well as ordinary as a day could be in the Makai. I was wandering through the forests on a search for a wanted demon criminal.

I am what you would call a bounty hunter. I am Megumi. I am only 16 years old and out to avenge my parents murder. I am a fox demon. I have black hair and green eyes. I have the ability to control water and ice and use it in my fighting.

I still remember the day my parents were killed. I was only 8 and I have been on my own ever since.

Flashback

"Mom? Dad?" I called frantically trying to find my parents.

"Listen my sweet little Megumi. You have to run and hide. He will not be merciful toward you. Hide."

I hugged my mother and father and ran into the back of our home hiding inside of a cupboard. I heard the murderer enter. His footsteps echoing inside of my head as he walked right past my hiding spot, I could see his shadow on the opposite wall.

"Please spare us, please!!" I heard my mother sobbing. I saw the man swing his scythe and my father's body fall limp and lifeless to the floor. My mother cried out and I wanted to scream and run to him but I placed my hands over my mouth and stayed in place. It would not help to die also.

As the murderer swung the scythe down against my mother's neck I felt as if my world was ending. I wanted to kill the man who was ruining my life. As he left the house I saw his face and realized he was a fox demon I ran into once.

His name was Matsui Hiroshimi and he walked me home once because I got lost in the forest. I thought he was a nice guy but apparently I was wrong.

I swore I would kill him with my own two hands and avenge my parents murders.

Flashback End

I sighed. I still dream about that night whenever I fall asleep. As I thought about my parents I stopped and decided to sleep under a tree for the night. Nobody would disturb me. I'm well known around these parts. And tomorrow morning I will meet up with my best friend and we will continue the hunt for the murderer.
