"So, you're my clay?"

The 'boy' before her smiled shyly. "If this was real, I would be able to say 'in the flesh.' But, it's not. Yet, you know what I mean, right?"

Sharpay smiled, taking his hand in hers. "Why haven't I noticed before? Why are you here, yet when you were suppose to be alive, you weren't?"

The previously labeled 'Basketball geek' smiled. "You wanted me 14, right?" The blond nodded. "You had to wait fourteen hours." They stopped as the reached the garden spot Gabriella and Troy snuck away too so many times. "Sharpay, you had no idea how I felt when I woke up without a leader."

Sharpay ducked her head. "I'm sorry. I was...so frustrated." She looked up. "What else can I say?"

The boy smiled. "Well, my life here on Earth ends tonight. But, before I go, can I have one dance with the girl who made me?"

Sharpay smiled. "You may...Chad."

With that-and by some strange coincidence-the music from the gym blasted throughout the room and the two, real and made, danced throughout the room.

And suddenly, Sharpay began to cry.

Chad, confused at the way his maker was acting, pulled her from his shoulder and gazed upon her. "Shar?"

"It's just..." She rubbed at her eyes.

"Don't...you'll ruin your make-up."

"This has been the best night of my life...and it's all going to be over when the clock strikes midnight." I sound like Cinderella.

Chad pursed his lips, grasping Sharpay's hands once more in his. "Sharpay, when I disappear, remember this. Whether I'm real or just a clump of old, wasted away clay, I will always love you with all my heart."

Sharpay laughed, a mix between a sob and a genuine laugh. "I thought clay couldn't feel."

Chad joined in the laugh. "People once thought that ice couldn't burn."

Once more, they joined in dance and Sharpay felt lighter than the air that surrounded them. As the clock ticked closer to the stroke of day and night, Chad kissed his chapping lips to Sharpay's smoothly blushed cheek. "I love you." He whispered in her ear.

At the stroke of midnight, she was left with a pile of clay at her heeled feet. Pushing back the tears, she put on a brave front as she walked back down to the gym.

"Hey, Sharpay, have you seen Chad?" Troy asked.

"Actually, I just caught him. Grave news. His parents apparently have been filing divorce and now his mom has custody of him and their moving to somewhere in California and they're doing just that right now." She explained, surprised at how fast she came up with that.

"Shar, look out!"

Sharpay looked behind her to see a set of light swinging towards. Stiffing her body, she waited for the lights to give her the worst pain yet.

But it never came.

What would seem as coincidence, or just plain luck, surprised everyone. Just as the lights came her way, her heels gave out and broke, causing her to fall and make the lights miss her completly. Ryan, along with everyone else, huddled around her to see if she was alright. "Good God, Shar, you are damn lucky." Her twin said.

"Looks like your Guardian Angel is smiling down on you." Gabriella chimed in.

Sharpay smiled nodding. Yea, my Guardian Angel is the best...

And it's name is Chad Danforth.

For anybody confused, The story is that Sharpay made Chad from Clay, but didn't believe it worked because she only waited four hours. But indeed it did work and she's only realized it, as did Chad, at the last minute. This came to me in a dream, okay.
