Alec felt a hole in his chest. Jace was the Owl. That was all he could think about. Alec should have realized that something was up with Jace, but he didn't. Alec stared at his Parabatia, locked in the Malachi Configuration, a prison for Greater Demons. The man standing before him looked so much like Jace, but it wasn't Jace.
"That's not very nice," the Owl said, "Putting your brother in a box."
"You're not our brother." Alec said, not taking his eyes off the demon, "So don't get too comfortable, cause we are going to get him back."
"You and your undying love for your Parabatia." The Owl smiled at Alec, which made a shiver run down his spine, "I hate to burst your bubble, but when I was sent to your family. I was desperate."
"Pay no attention to him, Alexander." Alec turned to see Magnus who had just walked into the room. "He's just trying to get under your skin."
"The only reason I became your Parabatia, was to make sure there was a roof over my head."
"None of its true."
"Or maybe I don't like to coddle your latest soldier boyfriend." The Owl stood in front of Magnus and looked back at Alec. Those eyes made Alec shiver. They were empty, dark, and cold. "What are the chances I can get a beer?"
"None." Alec said in an impassient voice.
"You both ready for this?"
"I just want my brother back," Izzy said as she took Alec's hand.
"You guys were always the smart ones in the family. Do you think you can save Jace from Lilith?" The Owl said watching there every move.
"I don't know how long I can maintain the connection, but bring Jace back quickly," Magnus said, smiling at the brother and sister.
"Why do you want to save Jace?" The Owl said glaring at Magnus. "He's your main competition. You may share your bed with, Alec, but he could only have one; who would he choose?"
"Shut up!" Alec yelled at the demon. Alec could never pick between Jace and Magnus; he would rather die.
"It's alright." Magnus said soothingly, "Just don't lose focus."
"Oh yeah don't lose focus-" The Owl said mockingly until Magnus hit him with a blast of magic. The Owl froze and groaned in pain, as Magnus performed the spell. They were all engulfed in the spell until the Owl did something unexpected. "You know your boyfriend is right. The focus is the Key." That was when they all felt a dark magical presence approach. "Veni mecum ad matrem suam. Ego donum tibi. Pet scriptor filius Regis."
"No," Magnus said, as he felt another demonic presence arrive. Lilith. She blasted Magnus with his magic throwing him against the wall. Jace, Izzy, and Alec collapsed on the floor. Lilith strolled into the room.
"Rise my child." She said to Jace, who did as he was told. "This cage does not suit you." Lilith waved her hand and the cage disappeared. "Magnus Bane, I could kill you right now, but I do not wish to anger your father. So I will spare you." Jace now free of the cage walked towards where an unconscious Alec and Izzy were lying on the floor. Lilith saw who Jace was staring at and smiled. "And you brought me a treat, how nice of you."
"No! Stay away from them." Magnus said weakly trying to get up off the floor.
"Or what?" The Owl said crouching down next to Alec. The Owl ran his fingers threw Alec's black hair. "How could you stop me?"
"Let this be a warning. Get in my way, and dear Mr. Lightwood pays. And if I find out you try to track him, there will be consequences." And then Lilith, Jace, and Alec vanished in a flash. Magnus was then able to move after Lilith's magic had left and Izzy woke up. The Owl had been studying him, looking for his weakness, Alec, and now Lilith had him.
