Title: When Wrong Was Right.
Spoilers/Timeline: None/I think before season 2 and around the end of season 1.
A/N: When the muse knocks on your door, you can't ignore her.
No inFRINGEment intended. (Always wanted to do that!)
The wrong move, the wrong word. Anything could set him of, make him leave. Anything. She had known all along, he had told her from the beginning. At first she minded her moves and words because she didn't want to lose, she needed him to work with his father and solve cases. Then he became her friend and she minded her moves and words because she needed him in her life. Something she would never admit or say out loud, but something that was as true as her name. And then, out of nowhere, or so she thought, she didn't want to lose him because she needed him, just him. Because she, yes, Olivia Dunham, was in love with Peter Bishop. Also something she would never admit or say out loud, though her heart craved for her to scream it to the world. But she was the professional agent and he was her colleague and they were never, ever supposed to get together, and she strongly doubted whether her feelings were mutual. Sure, the looks he gave, the stares and the 'accidental' brushes against her skin made her think, but it couldn't be, it was wrong. So she made sure she never made the wrong move, never said the wrong thing, so that he would stay. And then, all of a sudden, he was gone. Out of her live, to never return. And why? Why, she asked herself, time after time. And when she couldn't find the answer she asked herself what? What had she done wrong?
Of course it never occurred to her that what she had done wrong was that she never did what was wrong.
