A bird in the distant sung a song that made the most of ponies wake up. On the other hand, Discord wasn't "most" ponies. But even still, he had a heart. That's why he didn't have to listen to the song bird, he was already up. His heart ached for the one, that one special pony that he desired. That pony was Celestia. His heart wanted her more than anything else. So Discord got up and started the day. Discord sighed and looked at the calendar. He read, "May 5th 1884." This was his birthday, but he knew he wouldn't have a Happy Birthday, he just knew. Discord got up and looked in the mirror. He sighed and said, "Monster" Silently. So he walked out of his house and walked sadly to the forest. He thought it would be a decent place for his birthday. He sat under an oak tree and watched the clouds. He heard hooves and looked down. There he saw Chrome Fire, possibly the only friend he had. She had a small cake with red candles on it. Discord smiled slightly and took the cake. "Happy Birthday, Discord." Chrome said. Chrome sliced a piece and gave it to him. Chrome frowned, "Why are you so sad, it's your birthday!" Discord shook his head, "It's about her." He sighed. "You mean Celestia? That's nothing to be bothered about!" Chrome Fire sat down, her orange hoove around his neck. Chrome smiled. "How about we go have a race? I know how much you love that!" Discord smiles and starts to get up. Chrome sets the starting line and she yells, "GO!" Discord flew as fast as he could, then Celestia came into his vision. He took a break quickly, gathered as many flowers he could get and flew to her. He handed her the flowers and grinned awkwardly Celestia frowned, took the flowers and said quietly, "Thanks Discord, but my answer is no." Discord blushed and quickly replied, "No! I mean, I didn't mean it like that." Discord felt horrible to lie to her, but he needed a cover. Celestia still frowned, "Discord we couldn't be together, you're..." She stopped, "Not like me." Discord let out a tear, and flew away quickly. Chrome flew right into him and they both fell down. Chrome looked up. "Oh it's you!" Discord flew away quickly. He knew this birthday would be a disaster.
