Dedicated to my dear friend, Blakeface, who talked me into writing this fic.
Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon, and I never will...I just dream I will. And yes, I know, it's short. Bite me.
Dawn stared up at the night sky. She loved the view in the country; no city lights, or skyscrapers to block out the stars. Dawn loved the way they twinkled…like diamonds, she'd always thought. …like Zoey's eyes…The black-haired girl blushed at this thought. No, she couldn't think like that! She'd swore she'd never think about anyone but a guy like that…but Zoey was…perfect. Or about as darn perfect as was possible. Sure, she had a temper. Sure, she was her rival. Sure she was her friend, but…that was the problem. Zoey was her friend. Nothing more. Nothing less. Dawn sighed. "I might as well quit thinking about her like that…it's not like she feels anything but friendship for me…" She stiffly got up and walked toward her tent. She'd sat there too long; for one, she was stiff beyond all belief. For another…
…it had made her realize…she couldn't have Zoey as just a friend.
Zoey walked quietly through the city. "Huh…so even at night, the city is still awake…" Now she remembered why she'd loved growing up in the country; people actually slept at night. She mumbled to herself, "Either everyone in this fricking city has insomnia, or they're all hyped up on caffeine…" Her mind drifted to her black-haired friend. Her pretty eyes, plump pink lips, soft curves…NO! Zoey shook her head loose of the thoughts. I do NOT like Dawn like that!!! Never!! Never…Zoey halted. Who was she kidding? She loved the young girl, and she knew it. But she knew that Dawn wouldn't feel the same…and if she told her, it would ruin their friendship. So she didn't have a choice…
…she would never be able to tell Dawn how she felt…never.
Alright, so there's the first chapter. R&R.
