Shepard stood there, awe struck at the true heart of the Citadel. The holographic child looked at her, his last words still lingering in the air. Three colors light up the enormous room, all three of them would end her life, for the sake of all life in the universe. Her eyes started to water up, a ball in her throat started to form. She thought of all the people she would leave behind, Liara, her lover, Garrus, her closest friend, Joker, her most reliable friend, and everyone else from when she worked for Cerberus. Her hand clenched her pistol, before she started to slowly walk to the red tube of light. The water was now slowly seeping down her cheeks and then on the floor. This had caught the attention of the Catalyst, he phased to her. She was now on her knees, crying silently to herself. The Catalyst touched the small puddle of tears,
"What is this" he asked touching the pool.
Shepard looked up "Tears, its what happens when people feel sad"
"Are you… Sad?"
"No… I'm just so tired of choosing, making discussions that might determine the fate of people I've never even meet before… I'm just… tired" she responded.
"Well… There is another option" He said, looking behind both of them, Shepard looked as well. A purple light beamed, overwhelming the other choices.
"W-what does that do?" Shepard said, rubbing the tears away.
"It will destroy every reaper in the universe… However, this will also let you live… But there is a slim chance of you surviving. But at a cost…"
"What cost?"
"You will have the sprit of a reaper"
Shepard gulped "What?" and when she said it, she groaned in pain. A purple beam of light shot out and burned an insignia on her back, a small black reaper icon now rested on the upper top part of her back. She was then levitated and then was shot back down to Earth at break neck speed. She just stayed conscious enough to see a purple beam of light shoot out, and then the scattered explosions of reapers. Before darkness took over as she hit the ground.
