"Elsa?"

The queen of Arendelle was staring out the window, a strange expression on her face. She had to tell Anna about it sooner or later but she couldn't know what her sister would say. It could be anything. Anna could be afraid of her.

"Elsa, are you okay?"

"Huh?" Elsa spun around to face Anna. "Oh...yeah, I'm alright, Anna. Nothing's wrong. I guess I'm just a bit tired today." Glancing outside, she realized it was getting dark. "It's late, Anna. Let's get to bed." Elsa started towards the bed, but then she felt a warm hand drag her back.

Anna had a cute little smile on her face but her eyes held firm. "Come on, Elsa," she said comfortingly. "What is it? I know something's got to be bothering you."

Elsa breathed in. "It's just that…" she said as frost crept up the walls. "Remember when we were little and we were playing with my powers? Before I shut you out? Well...I was going to tell you something about it. About why I shut you out. But I don't know how you'll think of me after I tell you."

Anna smiled. "Oh, it won't matter. And about powers? I remember ice and snow, but no powers."

Elsa sighed. "I know," she muttered. "That's because those memories were taken away from you. Do you remember when you were jumping around on mounds of snow, maybe?"

Anna thought for a moment. "Yeah, I remember," she muttered. "Shortly after, you shut me out." She crossed her arms with a teasing look on her face.

The queen didn't seem to find anything funny. She sighed again and closed her eyes, leaning on the window.

"You only remember ice and snow because...well, here's the story," she began, but then she gulped and muttered something random.

"Go on," Anna urged.

"Well...the trolls took your memories away, Anna," she said. "Not completely, but they replaced my powers with natural ice and snow. That was because we were playing with my powers one night and I accidentally hit you in the head with them. You fell to the ground unconscious and I was so afraid. I thought I killed you and I couldn't bear the thought of hurting you again like that so I just shut you out!"

Anna looked down at the ground. "Oh…" she muttered. "But, that's all in the past."

Elsa looked at her sister. "It...it is?"

Anna laughed. "Sure. I'm fine now, and you can control your powers. I'm so glad you told me! I've been wondering about this for years! Oh, wait, is that why there was that strange white stripe in my hair for so long?"

The frost on the walls quickly receded as Elsa smiled. She hugged her sister tightly and the two stayed like that for a few minutes until Anna pulled away with a "hehe" expression on her face. Elsa, sensing something was about the happen, gave the "hehe" look back at her sister.

"Do you want to build a snowman?" Anna asked.

Elsa chuckled. "Why not, Anna?" she said. "Let's go!"

The two ran outside laughing as they both clipped cloaks around their necks. Jumping in the snow, they were enveloped in snowflakes, snow, ice, and white and blue streaks as they had fun with the snow and Elsa's powers.

One of the guards peered through the darkening world and noticed the royal sisters playing. He smiled and walked back into the castle.

A/N: I'm not really planning on continuing this. Let me know if you liked it, though. I'm thinking about starting a Little House on the Prairie (the TV series) crossover with Frozen. If you think I should, just let me know in the reviews.
