I wrote this story after I listened to Airplanes by B.O.B ft Haley Williams and I decided to try it and see what happens.
PS. I do not own Jason Todd or Batman. I only own Aletta, Garth, Colin and the mysterious man at the end ENJOY!
Prologue
My breathing was starting to get heavy and my legs were begging me to stop running but I couldn't stop. I could feel their breath on my neck.
"Aletta," Garth shouted, "Stop running at once!"
I tripped over my sandals but regained my balance and sprinted down the gloomy sidewalk. I tried jumping into the air and beating my wings but the same searing pain shot through my shoulders.
"Damn you, Garth" I spit through gritted teeth. I looked over my shoulder and saw that Garth and Colin had stopped under a streetlamp. Colin glared at me as he pulled a golden arrow from his quiver and took aim. I widened my eyes and ran faster but apparently not fast enough. I screamed when the arrow entered my left calf and stumbled towards the ground, now I was limping instead of running.
There were hurried footsteps coming from Garth and Colin's direction and I knew that I was a goner but I was going down without a fight. I stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and turned to face my attackers. I raised my right hand; the light shimmered into the shape of a golden spear. I twirled it in a circle and than pointed the sharp end at the two men, who slowed to a walk, their eyes glued to the weapon in my hands.
"Aletta think of what you are doing" Garth said as he raised his hands up in a sign of defeat. But I knew the real Garth, he was just waiting for my spear to dissolve and than he would kill me and Colin would follow him like any loyal servant.
"Oh I am, Garth, trust me" I growled. I didn't wait for him to reply and threw my spear at the ground and it burst into a flash of golden light. I blinked and saw a golden barrier now in-between me, Garth and Colin. Colin shot an arrow at the barrier which dissolved as soon as it touched. I knew the barrier wouldn't last much longer and took a few steps back before running down the sidewalk again.
"Aletta!" Garth shouted but his voice faded the farther I ran. I didn't know how long I was running for but I had to stop, the pain in my left leg was killing me. I walked into a dark alley and sat against a dumpster and inspected my wound. The arrow had gone straight my leg; I broke the arrow and pulled both sides out of my leg. I winced and more blood started to gush out of my wound. To stop the bleeding, I gripped the edge of my white toga dress and ripped off a good four inches and wrapped it around the wound.
I took a deep breath and glanced around the edge of dumpster, Garth and Colin were no where in sight. I smiled in triumph. I was about to stand up when someone jumped from the top of the dumpster and grabbed me by my throat. He lifted me into the air and threw me into the brick wall of the alley. I laid there stunned and saw a dark figure walk towards me, a silver sword glittered in his hand.
"Did you really think you were going to get away that easily, Aletta?" the figure questioned in a deep voice as he knelt next to me.
I felt a sharp tip touch the side of my neck and I gulped, frozen on the ground.
"You failed in your duty as a Guardian and now you must pay" He growled and than everything went black.
TADA! I will definitely write more of this because I really like it and I think it will make an awesome story Thanks for reading and please review :D
