Joanne looked up from the case she was working on as someone burst through her office door. Expecting a prospective client to enter she was surprised to see a slightly panicky emo-rocker.

"Roger!" she exclaimed, "Since when do you visit me at work?"

"My Mom's coming to New York!" he announced with no prior explanation.

"Oh," replied Joanne, unsure of whether the proper response was be 'Cool!' or 'I'm sorry.'

"Well I've in contact with her a bit and she's coming to visit me. The thing is she doesn't know about April's suicide, or smack, or Mimi, or the fact that I live in the East Village. In fact she thinks I live in someplace a little nicer than I do so…well I was wondering if I could borrow your place."

"My place?"

"Please Joanne. I wouldn't destroy anything. I just need to make a good impression. It wouldn't be more than a couple days."

He looked so worried that Joanne couldn't help but give in. After all what was the worst that could happen. "Sure," she replied. "I'll tell Maureen and we can Roger-ify our apartment. When's your mom coming?"

"Tonight."

"Maureen?" the drama-queen looked up from her plans for her next protest.

"Hey, Collins, what's up?"

"Well, I might be back at MIT next year," he responded.

"Awesome…how'd that happen?" she asked.

"Well one of the guys who supported my theories is the new Dean…the old one retired…and he's called me back. He says that he'll come and visit me in New York, see the night life and if he likes what he sees of me then I'll get the job."

"That's cool," said Maureeen. "What's the catch?"

"He wants to stay with me in New York and I'm afraid if he sees my pace I'll not only not get the job, but he'll call the police on me." Explained Collins.

"Oh, I'm sorry," said Maureen. "Can I do anything…other than help you clean. I hate to clean."

"Well, that's why I'm here. He's coming tonight and I gave him you and Joanne's adresss, thinking that maybe if he stayed here he'd get a better impression. So you two can stay with Angel for a couple of days and I'll be here...if it's okay with you?"

"Of course. A friend in need is a friend indeed."

A/N: This wasn't very funny, I know, but it was just to introduce the story. I promise it'll get better. (Oh and the characters aren't mine. Neither is the general storyline which is based on one episode of Wooster and Jeeves which is a cool Britcom)
