I stand at the edge of the forest
As the day fades into evening;
Looking upwards to the sky
And waiting for the moment of change.
Once the moon begins to rise
I will be no longer human,
But a monster capable of killing and
Infecting others with my disease,
If not for a potion
With a disgusting flavour,
That allows me to keep my mind
In the body of the wolf.
And I think back on the time
When I had three loyal friends
Who would turn into animals
to share this night with me.
Over the forest paths we ran
And up to the hills beyond,
We were daring and adventurous
And made this night our own.
But prongs died years ago
And wormtail is a traitor,
And sirius, how I still miss him,
We had so little time together.
So I stand here alone
As the moon starts to rise,
Crying out in agony
As my body transforms.
here I stand, an inhuman monster
Howling at the moon,
The enemy that makes my life
a hell of pain and loneliness.
