A Hormonal Mess

"Mama, me hungry." Sloan told Jackie one Saturday morning.

"What would you like to eat?"

"Camble eggs." He replied.

"Scrambled eggs?" Jackie asked him.

"Yeah." He told her.

"Ok." She told him with a smile.

"Honey, I'm making scrambled eggs for breakfast, how many would you like?" She asked Nick, who was sitting on the couch.

"I'll make breakfast." He offered.

"I'll do it. How many do you want?"

"Just a couple." He answered.

She went back into the kitchen and got out one of the two egg cartons out of the fridge. She'd bought two at the store because they were on sale and the whole family liked eggs.

She cracked a few and then put the rest back in the fridge. She then decided she needed a couple more so she got them back out and cracked some more.

"Oh no." She told Nick, who was now sitting at the kitchen table reading the paper.

"What's the matter?" Nick asked.

"I had already taken eggs out of one of the cartons and now I just took some out of the other." She replied.

Nick had no idea why that would be a problem and was just about to ask her why it mattered when to his astonishment she burst into tears.

"Honey, it's ok." He told her as he walked over to her.

"Here, look." He said as he took eggs out of the first carton and put some in the other so that one would be full again.

She dabbed her eyes.

"You go sit down, I'll finish." He offered.

She smiled gratefully at him and sat down.

"Do we have any ham sweetie, I'll cut some and put it in the scrambled eggs."

"I forgot to buy ham." She exclaimed as she once again burst into tears.

"It's ok, I'll just put cheese in them." He said quickly.

The poor woman is an absolute hormonal mess. He thought to himself.

"Breakfast is ready buddy." He told Sloan as he peeked his head into the living room where Sloan was watching cartoons, luckily he hadn't observed Jackie's meltdowns.

Nick got both Sloan and Jackie a plate of eggs and carried them over to the table so they could eat.

He then made some for the other kids so they could have some when they woke up.

Jackie enjoyed her breakfast, even if the eggs didn't have ham in them.

The End!
