The temperature was several degrees below zero. He was shivering. The coldness penetrated through the skin as he had no shoes, mittens, beanie or scarf. Every breath he took felt so icy in his lungs. The frosty air wasn't easy to breath.
From the distance he heard a desperate voice calling his name. Castiel. The voice was hoarse as the person had been yelling his name for a quite some time.
Castiel tried to get up. The ground was slippery and he fell. He was so numb from the coldness that he didn't really feel that. He heard crunching noise as someone approached him. The steps came closer. He opened his eyes and saw a pair of worried, green eyes.
- Dean, Castiel croaked.
- Shh, I got you, Dean said lifting the angel under the armpits. The warm breath of Dean behind Castiel's ear made Castiel shiver. Dean dragged Castiel to the car. He opened the door to the passenger s seat and helped Castiel to sit.
- I have a blanket in the trunk, Dean said. - It'll keep you warm.
As they arrived to the motel where the elder Winchester was staying, parked the car and hurried to open the door to the motel room and went to get Castiel.
Dean placed Castiel on the bed and helped him under the covers.
- When you're little warmed up, I'll take your outdoor clothes off, so you'll feel more comfortable. In the meantime, I'll get you a nice cup of hot chocolate from the vending machine. Little bit of whiskey would be good, too...
There was no answer. Dean peeled the covers a little and peeked on Castiel s face. He put his hand on Castiel s forehead. Castiel popped his eyes wide open. He leaned to Dean's touch.
- I am freezing, the angel complained.
- Like I said, I'll get you a cup of - -
- Don't leave me.
Dean sat on the bed. - Not going to. I'll just pop outside for a moment.
- No.
- Cas.
Castiel unwrapped the blankets little bit. His hand grabbed Dean's. Castiel s hand was clammy and cold but his hold was strong. - Stay.
Dean sighed. The angel of the Lord (well, he wasn't himself but still) was ordering Dean to stay. Stupid, stubborn angel, he thought. An idea occurred to him. Shared body heat could warm the angel up. There was no way the macho hunter would suggest a thing like that to the angel. He sighed again.
- What? Cas asked hoarsely.
- You have to get warmed up, man. I was thinking...
- Yes? Castiel raised his gaze. The familiar blue eyes seemed somewhat blurrier than usual.
Dean just climbed to the bed and snuggled to the shivering angel. - If anyone asks, this never happened, okay?
The angel just squinted his eyes and looked confused.
