The Battle had been won. People were celebrating and grieving together. Harry was talking to Neville and Luna, when Ron came over.
"Harry Have you seen Hermione?"
"Not in the last 2 hours. Last I saw her, she was talking to Ginny about taking a shower and borrowing some clothes."
"I'm gonna go see if I can find her."
After saying goodbye to Harry, Neville and Luna, Ron left the great hall in search of Hermione.
~o0o~
Hermione never liked flighing, but somehow she found herself at the Quidditch field looking out over it. She didn't know how long she had been there, but she didn't care, she needed time to think. Plus the field reminded her of Ron and she felt safe just by thinking of him.

Ron had almost given up searching for Hermione, he knew that wherever she was she would be safe. However he thought he would look one last place before giving up completely.

Hermione was so caught up in her thoughts, that she didn't notice Ron walking up to her.
"Hey 'Mione."
Hermione jumped and had her wand at the ready before turning around.
"Oh Ron, it's just you. Don't scare me like that."
"Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."
"It's okay, just don't ever do it again. Try to remember we were fighting a war 12 hours ago."
"I know, I was there."
"And I've never been more proud of you, then when I watched you fight."
"Really?"
"Yep."
There were a few minutes of silence, before Ron spoke.
"Mione? About what we did before the war…"
"You mean when I kissed you?"
"Yeah, about that…"
"I've wanted to do that for the last 4 years."
"Oh. Wait what?"
"What? You thought I only did it because we might die?"
"I don't really know. I didn't know you liked me."
"Like you? Ron I'm bloody in love with you. Why do you think I hexed you, when you and Lavender walked into that room where Harry and I were talking?"
"You…You're in love with me?"
"Have been for the past 4 years."
"Why didn't you say anything?"
"And have you laugh at me? No thanks."
"Why would I laugh at you?"
"You wouldn't?"
"No I wouldn't."
"Then what would you have done? Ended our friendship?"
"What? NO. I would have said, Hermione Jean Granger, I love you too."
"Really?"
"Mione, I've loved you for as long as I can remember."
Hermione just smiled and leaned her head against Ron's shoulder.
Ron pulled Hermione against his chest, wrapped his arms around her and sighed, before Hermione started talking.
"I could get use to this."
"You better, cause I'm not letting you go for a long long time."
"Good, cause I don't want you to."
"I love you Hermione Jean Granger."
"I love you too Ron Weasley."
"Marry me?"
"Ronald, don't say something that you don't mean."
"I couldn't be more serious. I'm as serious about that, as you are about homework."
"Why?"
"We just survived a war and I could have lost you. I love you and I never wanna be away from you ever again. I want you to be my first and last everything and I want you to be the mother of my children. So I'll ask once again. Will you marry me?"
Hermione had at that point started crying, not because she was sad, but because she never thought she would be this happy. Ron's speech also left her speechless, so she just attacked Ron's lips in a passionate kiss. Once they broke away for air, Ron looked at Hermione.
"So is that a yes?"
Hermione looked at a very nervous Ron and smiled.
"Of course it's a yes."
Ron relaxed and almost yelled.
"Thank god."
"Can I just do one thing?"
"And that would be?"
"Can I rub it in Lavender's face?"
Ron laughed out loud.
"Sure, but we better tell mum, dad and Harry first."
"Fine by me."
THE END!
